08This help file spells out the core rules of LOTJ. While we aim for clarity and fairness, every scenario cannot be covered explicitly and rules are subject to staff interpretation. If you think another player has broken a rule, contact the staff. Remember the golden rule of LotJ: Anything players can do, we can undo. 10(15910)07 Godmodding - taking control of another player's character or NPC during roleplay - is not allowed. This includes speaking on behalf of NPC planets, leaders, and citizens. 10(151010)07 If you are in a conflict, regardless of who instigated the fight, there is an incentive to let the other character go: For two weeks, the player who was let go must curtail revenge against the player who let them go unless they are provoked by that player. 10(151110) There are restrictions on when you can quit, go link-dead, or AFK when combat or pursuit with another player is involved. Specific cooldowns and restrictions are spelled out in HELP QUIT. If you go link-dead or AFK to avoid those cooldowns, your character will be transferred directly to that player's custody. 10(151210)07 You may not destroy ships on pads randomly or without cause. You may, however, attack certain ships if this would provide you with a strategic advantage if you are engaged in battle with the ship owner or if you are at war with the ship owner 10(15clan or individual who is clanned10)07. 10(151310)07 Players/clans may not keep someone in jail without diligent effort to roleplay with the jailed. Please see HELP JAIL_GUIDELINES for more information. 10(151410)07 Clans require a certain degree of trust between members to function. Spying or otherwise betraying your clan 10(15or former clan10)07 must follow HELP SPYAPP. 10(151510)07 Roleplay is conducted in English only. 10(151610)07 Consensual erotic roleplay is allowed but please keep it to private areas and be mindful of exposing your activity to other players. Remember, LOTJ is generally a PG-13 setting. 10(151710)07 Reimbursing items, levels, et al. lost in a crash is at the staff's discretion and isn't always possible.
