This help file spells out the core rules of LOTJ. While we aim for clarity and fairness, every scenario cannot be covered explicitly and rules are subject to staff interpretation. If you think another player has broken a rule, contact the staff. Remember the golden rule of LotJ: Anything players can do, we can undo. (1) LOTJ is a decades-old community and everyone is here to have fun: we expect our players to be civil to each other. Do not disrespect, insult, troll, or harass your fellow players or the staff. Sexist, racist, or other hateful language is not tolerated. Read Help Community for more info. (2) LOTJ is an immersive, roleplay-enforced environment and you are expected to play as such. We also expect players to keep a barrier between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC) information. Read Help IC for more info. (3) LOTJ is a PVP mud with moderated player killing. All PKs must comply with Help Perm. (4) You must be 18 years or older to play LOTJ. Also, characters cannot be roleplayed as under 18. (5) LotJ is a reactive system. Immortals generally do not halt active roleplay - If you feel there is a breach of the rules, make sure you are logging and contact the staff when the situation is finished. (6) Players can have unlimited characters, but only one account. You may not share characters or accounts with other people. If two players wish to play from the same house, they must follow the rules in Help Multiplay. (7) Your alts may not interact in any way, shape or form. They may not share ships, items, information, agendas, goals, ulterior motives, or vendettas. They cannot be related without immortal permission. When in doubt, KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID! Err on the side of caution. (8) You may not have characters in different clans (ie multiclanning). They must be in the same clan or independent.
