SQUADRON

[:: Legends Of The Jedi ::]

Squadron System Overview

Squadrons allow a player to control a group of starfighters. Every squadron is
formed around a lead fighter which must be operated by a player. All other
ships in the squadron can be left unpiloted, although other players can operate
them if desired.

Once configured on a landing pad, squadrons will automatically follow all
movements of the lead ship, including launching, hyperspace, and landing.

Important note: For best results, ensure all members of your squadron have the
same (or more) speed, maneuver, and hyperspeed as your fighter.

In combat, squadrons will automatically fire weapons along with the lead ship.
If you do "fire ion", every ship in your squadron will also immediately attempt
to "fire ion" on the same target. Unlike other unmanned ships, squadrons can
also dodge incoming fire. A squadron fighter's chance to dodge is equal to the
chance to dodge of its lead ship, so the lead pilot's skills matter a lot.

Squadrons automatically set up fleet positions to protect the lead ship. The
lead ship is automatically set in the central position and all other members
are set in the outer position. Unlike with battlegroups, not even turrets or
tractor beams can bypass this protection in squadrons, meaning the lead ship is
untouchable as long as it has a member of its squadron within 1000 units.

Squadron Commands

Syntax: squadron add <ship>
From inside your fighter, use this command to add another fighter landed
alongside yours to your squadron. You must have piloting rights on both your
current ship and the target to add it to the squadron.

Syntax: squadron remove <ship>
You can always remove a member of your squadron by name, even if you're not
landed or near the ship you want to remove.

Syntax: squadron exit
From inside a fighter which is part of a squadron, this will remove that
fighter from its squadron. If run on a squadron leader, the entire squadron is
disbanded.

Syntax: squadron status
Use this command to view an overview of your squadron's membership and the
current state of each ship.

Syntax: squadron assist
This command toggles whether your squadron members will automatically fire when
you do.

Syntax: squadron aim <system>
This allows you to designate which system on capital ships your squadron will
attempt to disable. Squadrons have the unique ability to, with a bit of luck,
disable systems on capital ships even when their shields are up. It can take
many shots to disable your target system. Setting an aim target doesn't reduce
your accuracy or damage, so there's no downside to setting one.

Possible targets: laser, ion, launcher, tractor, turret

Syntax: squadron roll
Syntax: squadron chaff
These commands let you issue specific tactical commands to your squadron. All
ships in the squadron will perform the requested maneuver, but your own ship
will not.
