Ions aren’t going to help if your guy is spamming recharge. Tractoring isn’t going to help if your guy is command stacking speed 150;hyperspace, and gravitywell generators are a rare case that your average joe isn’t going to have access too. If you don’t want to get caught in another ships shadow, blow it up and then jump.

I just think 500 prox is too far a distance to manage to safely run with any kinda ship. Unless the pilot you’re trying to escape is borderline retarded.

Maybe they are too weak or shield recharge is too powerful. You are talking about destroying smaller ships faster. Why not? But then we back into how harsh space.

Then your operator needs to learn to press buttons faster. Or extend the range of the tractor beam.

Yes, it was mainly a military thing, which are usually the same people who are trying to stop other ships from leaving; military.

About that, the point is for the YT to get AWAY from the ISS, not try to fly closer to the ISS to shoot it, while the ISS is spamming recharge. <!– s:? –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!– s:? –>

You already have 500 units around a planet that a ship can’t jump. Most capitals will have no probably stopping a ship before it leaves that area.

Ships having a gravity well makes me bang my head against the wall. I find it unfair, unbalanced and irritating as hell.

I don’t find it unbalanced at all, because there does need to be something there that stops instant hypering away, otherwise there would never be a single space death ever. Now, do I find it annoying as all hell when I launch and it takes 10 minutes just to get away from other ships who are also launching? Yes.

      +1

It ends up either I end up stopping and waiting or depending on the character yelling at them to stop.

Hate hitting prox only to see i’m gaining 2 points of distance due to having slightly more speed than the pubbie next to me.

That’s only for jumping in. You’re only stopped from jumping out by ships. Planets have no effect on entering a jump.

The problem is they usually have a capship in orbit = 500 prox. =/

I bang my head against the wall that so many folks can just go buy weapons so easily. In real life, there’s a lot of red tape involving permits and licenses. I liked how the Empire was doing manufacturing permits in this recently over Imperial era, but it didn’t translate down the line to the consumer so much. Openly selling weapons to anyone that passes by seems kind of… unrealistic. Still, this is the sort of thing that should be player run. Anything in code to support it should require clan RP to tick properly.

Same goes for spice and drugs and whatnot.

It wasn’t really all that difficult to own a weapon in the Star Wars universe if you think about it. Everyone and their mother at least had a blaster pistol of some kind. Even farmers and settlers had a blaster rifle or two to protect themselves from the local indigenous species and wildlife.

There’s a bit of a difference between a repeater and a regular rifle, though. Or a repeater and a pistol. A repeater, to me, is like toting around an Ak-47 that spits out lasers.

In some countries you can carry around an Ak-47 at the age of 12….

True, but we are talking about a more civilized society. Yeah, sure. Maybe in the Expansion or Unknown Region. But having access to one is usually the issue then.

I concur. Most sales of weapons, at least in MD, have a lot of red tape to go through. Unless it’s a single shot rifle or shot gun. You can just roll into Wal-Mart and buy them. I agree with Lexx416 about the AK. It’s as if we can just walk right around the corner and pick up a P90, M16 or, as Lexx mentioned, the AK-47, and then have no problem sporting it.

Also, in the movies, most of the time nobody is on one of the major planets. When they were running around Coruscant you didn’t see people with weapons or holsters or what not.

I still don’t enjoy the jump from pistol to sniper rifle to assault rifle.

Ah, here’s a good one, it drives me nuts…

If you’re not the owner of a ship inside a hangar, you can’t unload it! WTF? Seriously? You mean I can’t chuck any ship out of my hangar I want to? I have to either track down the owner or (even better) hire a smuggler to pirate the ship long enough to get it out of my hangar bay.

Charisma score affecting how you look makes absolutely no sense.

I’ve seen pretty people have ZERO charisma, and I’ve seen ugly people have silver tongues.

Charisma may add to attraction, but it definitely does not add to looks.

I think that is something that should be made on chargen as a way to customize your character in a minor fashion.

I like the concept of being able to decide your char’s physical looks rather than letting ypur stats decide
