OH SNAP I JUST REMEMBERED
One thing that would make pistols way more appealing to me: Make it so you don’t need to hold cells in your hand to reload. It makes reloading on the fly such a fucking hassle. <!– s:( –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt="

Or maybe like.. have it go a little bit slower if you’re not holding a cell?

Killed a fuckload of stormtroopers who couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn if one of the heroes was within three miles of it…
Just because it happened in the movies and is TECHNICALLY G-Canon doesn’t mean we HAVE to do it. Some things that are necessary for storytelling (Stormtrooper Marskmanship) are stupid for a game.

Frankly, I’m tempted to give one of my guys dual pistols just for the coolness factor. And I’ll loooooool when I win![/quote:1b4h958s]
hey i’m actually reading the thread, this is crazy
so another comment, i did experiments with bowcasters
verdict: bowcasters blow sweaty monkey balls when put up against a competent, leveled and geared person using a repeater
simple reason is the high amount of attacks per round that the repeater gets, and there seriously needs to be in game restrictions on weapons, people here have said it themselves, but do you know what happens each time i start really pushing for weapon bans and such?

[i:1b4h958s]we don’t have enough people to enforce that
it’s stupid
there’s no plausible way to do this
people will be upset
i’m a whiny bitch and i want my character to live to the next era so i wanna keep everyone happy
[/i:1b4h958s]blah blah blahi actually have a (what i belive to be) a cool idea for revamp of the combat class system that utilizes the different blaster types and other weapons, but it’s pretty long and all posting will do is generating bitching or go relatively unnoticed, and in the end it will ultimately be decided that we’d all rather not change things so we at least have comfort in knowing that we’ll always having something to complain about. so i don’t think i’ll bother with it.[/quote:1b4h958s]
…HEY.

Right, but you do have this happen: Your hands are too full to reload your blaster!
So basically… +1 for being a nitpick, -5 for being wrong, -10 for being a douche about it.

Blatant troll is blatant. For anyone who actually needs me to clarify, you need to remove one blaster to reload, then remove the other one. This becomes even trickier when you’re dealing in generic blasters that tend to have the same name, because then you’re stuck swapping them into bags and shit to make sure you don’t reload the same one twice. All of that is pretty annoying to have to do in the middle of a PK battle. Fixing it so you can reload while dual-wielding would be much, much better and I’d probably actually use pistols then.

Here’s an odd idea, how about bonuses based on stats? Obviously, a really strong, but slow person is more likely to be toting a repeater because that’s what they do, but they’d also be more able to /use/ it because recoil would affect them less.
Now take a smaller, lithe and faster person, like an Echani, and give them a vibroblade. That person is going to go whoopass with a blade. They’re small, quick and can groove in and out of your corners like there’s no tomorrow.
Rifles are obviously only going to be used by people with high accuracy (Read dex since we don’t have accuracy). So let it be so.
OR, lord forbid I suggest this, if people want to customize their characters we give vibroblades, blasters and force pikes a base damage and let stats do the rest.
Also, Repeaters aren’t any stronger than your typical pistols and in fact weaker than your typical heavy pistol. They’re ‘whoopass’ sticks because they can fire so quickly. The old adage ‘many hits, low damage can hurt more than one hit, high damage’ is true in this case.
PS: Echani were fucking awesome and they used melee weapons even against a blaster toting madman.

We should bring back the T-289 Stun grenades from Ord Mantell… or Nim Drovis one of those two.

Problem with this idea is like 70% of PVP characters have both insane and relatively equal (i.e. str, con, dex are within a point of eachother) combat stats.

Hell. No.
It was bad enough when they brought the gas grenades back in, that shit was annoying as hell. Stun grenades just cheapen the whole pvp experience, eventually douches just start using them like they’re shits n giggles grenades. I’m all for doing away with instant stun commands/objects. Blackjack is more or less the be all end all now with how its changed and you get retards using it because they think its funny to just randomly smack people.
Half the players here indulge in a twelve year old mentality when shit like that is released to clans who seem to horde them like they’re golden goose eggs and eventually pass them out to people.

Yeah your right people did just use those like total DB’s so forget I mentioned that. Back to the weapons we currently have though, forcepikes are so legit but the only ones you ever see are the rare set ones that pop up every now and then for hunters or sith or whoever. Why not make the player built force pikes like blades with a hitroll and damroll bonus. I may be wrong so correct me if I am but I could have sworn forcepikes ruined equipment pretty quick, as well as parried pretty good. If I am wrong why not make them do that. They could be 3/3 forcepikes that had a higher chance of parry/damaging of eq vs the standard 4/5 blade. Then players could use 1 forcepike and 1 blade, or 2 of each or whatever they preferred.

Obviously, my request would require racial stats and stats in general being fixed.
The way I see it, there should be caps on stats depending on races. A human isn’t going to have ungodly strength, but they can have ungodly con, int and wis. Corellians could have ungodly dex, lck and con. etc, etc, etc.
