The system keeps track of when a player last logged on. It puts a nice * next to their name on a clan roster if they are part of a clan. So that brings me to the idea that once a character goes inactive by the system, it should be coded to give them X amount longer to log back in or their store is sold. The next question though comes…what happens to the credits it made and the items in the store? We’ve already discussed having stores automatically put the profits into an account, so if that idea goes through, that takes care of that. The items though, perhaps every planet you own a store on, you have to purchase a locker too. And the items transfer into the locker?

I dunno, just brainstorming here. Tired of seeing bum stores.

Pester the governing clans to keep on top of it more.

Doesn’t work…You might get 1 store closed if you yourself plan on opening it..one out of about 30 that need closed…and thats after a couple of weeks of asking. Its always on the agenda of things to do, but never actually gets done. Its a backburner project that most people would rather just do something else, and that something else being nothing. Honestly, I think its the fact that they have to travel to the planet itself to check the stores…then try to contact the people..then wait…then go check to see if something was done

The Redoubt did that pretty often.. honestly it’s just up to the players. If it doesn’t get done often enough the Republic should give someone the empowerment and give them the job specifically of handling economy, i.e. shops, cargo prices, etc.

They’re called Senators. Back when leadplanet actually ment something, Senators were less of pussy clan administrators (outside of votes and such) and more actual planetary leaders.
Solution: if a planet leader refuses to keep on top of his planet’s shops, cue economic stagnation/collapse of said planet… if they still refuse, pull their set and have some sort of IC recall vote.

Economy and politics should require constant micromanagement, too. They shouldn’t be able to just sit on Coruscant.

The Redoubt was so on top of it that some people who disappeared for a month started bitching that their shops were shut down and demanded their shit back.

Requiring constant micromanagement is a bit much, though. An occasional trip should be needed, but not constantly having to fuck with it.

Constant micromanagement is a bit much… especially if people are still getting a feel for leadplanet. While I will admit that it is not all that complicated, needlessly making it complicated will only serve to piss a bunch of people off and ensure that the only people becoming Senators/Planet Leaders are those who would understand it in depth (i.e. same douchebags becoming Senators/Planet Leaders).

Back to the subject matter though, Planet Leaders/Senators really do need to stay on top of the stores.

I agree, more than half the stores I go to that are player run are ’empty’ and either need to be restocked or shoved aside to be opened by someone else who needs the space.

There should also be a limit on how many stores a player can either A) own….or B) own per planet….I’m freaking sick of seeing 5 stores open on a planet, all by the same player…all holding the same shit that nobody wants…you could have easily put all that stuff in the same store…especially the 1 item you have in the majority of the stores.

In the case of shops on Republican worlds, if the Senators aren’t doing their jobs… Throw a fit. Get someone else elected, lol. Be creative.

There’s a bunch of ‘This space for Rent’ stores available on Lorrd too.

That kind of irks me, seeing as how the way they got the space to ‘rent out’ to people was that they got to the planet first, which yes, is fair. Or they were on at the time it became available and the other person wasn’t. Now that’s probably still fair, but that seems like a pretty douchey thing to do.

As for people have lots of stores all over with stuff in them, there’s possible good cause for that.

This is one thing where diplomats in the clans that govern those planets should be more diligent about. Stores that have repeatedly been empty of items for 3-5 days in a row should be closed by them. I don’t care if you lose your credits, your shit out of luck for not being a good store owner. If you had a store IRL and you never had anything to sell in it, it would go out of business. If you did it to my shop I wouldn’t have a problem with it because I would have been neglecting it. It doesn’t take long to bust out 100 flashlights, datapads, and blades. Get it done or lose your shop. Lastly if diplomats were going to be closing shops, they should broadcast the day before saying "A list of shops has been complied on the planet of lorrd where poor management is taking place, we will begin closing these shops later this week if they are not restocked with goods. You people know who you are ect…" Then the next day put out a broadcast "We will begin closing shops that carry no goods on the planets Lorrd, Corellia, Coruscant etc… within the next 2 hours, you have been warned" Then diplomats that are scared of losing their precious characters have told people that several planets will be hit, and warring clans will have to choose which planet to stake out if they want to find them. Plus that is what security and army’s are for. Take one of them with you and do your damn job. Plain and simple.

Oh, but god forbid someone tries to buy a shop or two on Lorrd.. then they get "STOP THAT WOMAN, EVIL MONOPOLIZER" on zero..

No but seriously, somebody go around and clear the shops..
