Slicers should be able to falsify the data a scan shows those dirty imps! Should be more than one way to smuggle stuffs! mwaha.

It could be something like instead of buycargo/sellcargo when smuggling it’s:
smugglecargo <buy/sell> <cargotype> <ship> <amount>
this causes the items to be placed onto the ship/sold from but doesn’t put it onto the cargo manifest.
allows for a pilot skill something along the lines of
(name needs work)
smugglescan <ship>
this would scan a ship to check it for smuggled goods.thoough IMO there should be a physical object placed into a ship’s cargo hold room when you have cargo on board. something like
Neatly stacked crates containing X
This will allow for people who can’t get the smugglescan skill to still be able to perform proper checks by boarding suspected smuggler’s vessels. Generally though, there should be more to a space check than just tractoring the ship to a halt and asking them to identify over some channel or hailing. I know it’s just a minor inconvenience right now, but it really should be more than that. Besides, who’s to say someone doesn’t just lie about who they are?

@Korr – that is pretty much exactly the implementation we’re looking at. Only difference being that a check for the cargo of the ship would be done from the cockpit, necessitating boarding/sweeping ships on pads.
