      Science mains are even worse than Slicers for just being an accessory to other classes. Honest Science mains are few and far between simply because they don’t do diddly shit.

      Science never had a clear and concise future. Ghost put it in one day as a, "I might have ideas someday" thing and it’s just been dragged through the mud ever since. I’m surprised Engineering hasn’t consumed it yet.

      Back to slicer though. A slicer, by definition, is a Star Wars hacker. They’re meant to control electronic things, that includes communications. It stands to reason that someone who can only really influence a digital medium should have some protection in the form of a digital disguise. I’m not married to the skill name, obviously, I just wanted to put the idea out there.
