I am rather curious about something. I know the point is to try to diversify our race selection, but really, are all the obscure entries necessary?
"But it’s in Wookieepedia! It’s not obscure!"
That’s like your college professor saying it’s alright to cite Wikipedia.
I’m merely curious if posting a race just for the sake of posting a race is necessary. Do we really need more obscure races that only one or two people will know how to "play correctly?"

Thank you, Kirash, for making a more calm and reasonable version of the point I was trying to make.
Seriously. What is the point of taking the ENTIRE LIST OF RACES IN WOOKIEEPEDIA, and putting them all in the game?
I’ll spare you the trouble: there is no point. It’s silly to add fucktons of obscure, silly, and generally repetitive races that nobody’s ever heard of except for a blurb on Wookieepedia and half a page in some obscure EU book. We already have enough absolutely shit racial RP. This will only make things worse, as people will now be shittily RPing things NOBODY EVER HEARD OF. Things that for the most part are absolutely ridiculous and slash or a minor variation on something else ANYWAY.

Why do we have T’surrs, Kaleesh, Dathomiri, Falleen, Sluissi, Givin, Zeltrons and other races then? They don’t appear in the movies and could be thought of as obscure. All the races I’ve posted here had quite an article behind them, far more than, for example, T’surr.
I won’t say it is not obscure, but is it hard to google a race name? No? Then why wouldn’t you? If you’re going to RP a race, go and research it on the main Star Wars website or Wookieepedia. There’s no excuse for wrongly RPing a race, obscure or not obscure.
By the logic of Fishy and Kirash, we should only have Ewoks, Gungans, humans, Rodians, Mon Calamari and Hutts. They all have at least a few lines in the movies, and since movies are popular, they aren’t obscure races. No one would wrongly RP them.
And ending my rant about QQing of others, I shall post another race, just to troll others.

Does any of the existing races require "cool" code to support something of theirs?
ie the antenna’s that extend/retract, the skincolor that can change.
I was thinking perhaps all verpine (easier than working out who is in hive 1 and hive 2 etc) would be able to talk to each other in a system etc.
MANTIS your ideas please.

Missing the point…[/url:omol8r4y]
We’re not saying to only have JUST movie races.
We’re saying that putting in races for the sake of putting in races is obnoxious. When you have a lot of people just going through Wookieepedia articles picking out every race that has ever had an appearance, however minor, is just ridiculous. It’s doing an essay without doing the research.
Chiss are fine. Dathomiri are fine. Everything you listed is fine because there is INFORMATION for them. They have good background information for people to get an idea on how to play them.
That’s what needs to be there. Information. If there is information in what you are posting, then this does not apply to you.

I agree with you about that. There’s a lot of races that only have a few lines written about, but I try to write about those that actually have more information written about them. Just saying. <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt="

Ewoks are terrible. Gungans are terrible.
T’surrs, Kaleesh, Dathomiri, Falleen, Sluissi, Givin, Zeltrons all have far more supporting information than J-Random-Wookieepedia-Entry. Kaleesh had a movie appearance and mention in several books. Zeltrons have had a game appearance. T’surrs have been in a number of fairly recent comics (though they’re still kinda silly), Givin have a movie appearance and an action figure. Sluissi aren’t as well represented as far as information. Falleen have a shitton of information and appearances in reasonably notable EU capacity.
It’s not so much that I only want 3 races, it’s more that I don’t want us choked with Pydyrians and Lepi and every other terrible pointless pile of crap.

I’ve said my piece. I’m all for expanding our race selection. I’m not all for some butt monkey race that no one has even heard of aside from going through the race category on Wikipedia and pulling out all the ones that have more than one paragraph of information.

All of the races posted here are in the Ultimate Alien Anthology, which is source material for the old Star Wars D20 game.
