Ambush requiring you to be concealed makes sense. You can’t ambush someone by standing in the middle of an open field and waiting for them to walk by. You can sucker-punch, backstab, clothesline, etc them but those aren’t ‘ambushes’ so much as ‘quick and abrupt attacks that are the RL equivalent to doing a hitall as soon as So-and-So arrives from the wherever.
The REAL problem seems to be that the BHer penalty to smugg is a little bit too high.
