Give clones a chance to fail again. That’s all you need.

I’m with Kirash on this. I’d suggest a progressively higher chance of failure as it goes on, but that would inevitably eventually lead to someone surviving the odds to the full third life and people calling hax, so just a flat % chance of failure each time would work.

Easy peasy: If the Imms are insistent on keeping it at two clones and out, if you want to put back in the chance to fail, just make it 25% first clone, 40% second clone. Done.

Cloning is not broken. There is nothing wrong with it… except that it sometimes cost only 150k to get a clone. It should cost around 1-1.5 mil average in vials to succeed, not 150-450.

      What IS broken: players.

You have the not-so-serious players that pick up where they left again, pretty much, and rp the worst of all.  And you have the serious players, that rp like a clone should, and sometimes go an entire different path. <<those are awesome.

In either case: Whomever killed the original wants to murder the clone as well, even if the clone was made waaaay before anything happened that caused whomever to kill original. A change of hearth of a clone who ‘knows’ why his original had to die is not accepted either, he or she gets killed too. Because that is what 3/4 of the lotj pvp community is like: blooooood…

Solution: Imms have to smack ‘bad’ clones on the head, players have to stop murdering clones.

possible other solution: A clone is likely a bit younger, hmmm? make all players that knew the original need knew greet/dubs on the clone if the clone was made a month or longer before the original died. players that have not seen the original for 30+ days are excluded for this.
