      Then do that… don’t wait for a piece of code to FORCE you to do that, most of the things that you want can be done anyway but you’re just waiting for it to change so you HAVE to do it therefore you clearly don’t want to do it that much

      I think the point here is that some people are better than others at manipulating the battlegroup as a whole and to level the playing field the idea is to slash battlegroup combat capability.

      I’m not in charge of the Navy or the clans, Sarac. Kinda hard to do that when the status quo gravitates toward one man Navies since they don’t want to have to actually take the time to train people in space combat. AIn’t my fault the Admirals are lazy or uncaring.

      I agree with Kirash. The people who do know space combat keep it to themselves, and don’t wanna help people learn, so it turns into a game where not many know space combat. That isn’t necessarily a players fault, we just don’t have an area for those players to learn it properly since they can’t just take ships and start using them.

      Battlegroup in general is a goofy idea. We’ve been slowly whacking away at it with the nerfhammer. It’s nice to give people a way to move ships around without having to go through launching in a shuttle, landing in a bay, flying to a planet, orbiting, autopilot, launching in shuttle, flying back, etc. over and over again but as far as combat goes, it makes things a little too messy, too fast-paced, and too unforgiving for new people.

      I like the idea of getting more people involved in space combat. Usually I only see one person per clan actually doing something with the cap-ships. I haven’t rolled a pilot in a while because I don’t see it as a class that is in demand as the roles are already filled by people who’ve been doing it for a while. I think this idea would create a higher demand for pilots and that would get more people to give it a go and have a chance to try it as well.
