Most MUDs that have this type of command are RPI MUDs. They have both emote variables that work with mobs, other players, and objects, as well as action messages that you can set.

.. A MUSH is far removed from an RPI MUD, trust me. Go play Shadows of Isildur and tell me that’s a MUSH.

It’s hardly a mush command. ( If you really want to be picky, I played a mud recently that had a ‘pose’ command on it. )
And it’s not like it would be something that would be enforced, you know? It would be there for people who would want to make use of it, the same as with any other social, channel, or command.

As have I, Lock. And yeah, RPI’s are NOT MUSHes. We’re not trying to turn the MUD into anything, we’re trying to make the MUD more RP friendly. Half and Half means it should call to both sides. PVP and RP.

I coded an actiondesc command to set your action description, as well as a player flag ‘noaction’ for abusing clowns.
I have no idea when the command will be added to the mainport…probably around the same time as my makecutter skill…

I will play around with the emote code next and see about variables for targeting people

Here is something.
There is indeed a $q token that appears to be what we want. However, there is also a line that says "only n can go with $"

It would have to work with being able to understand that / = $N which = that target of said variable. Or something along those lines, I don’t know much about targeting besides from using OLC to make socials. It doesn’t have to be / it could work with whatever symbol you want. That’s on a normal keyboard. Not like something you get from alt-keypadding.

After many, many, many hours working with Gral, actiondesc is functioning on the Walldoport. There is still a bug or two to fix, and I’d like to get it to support $n (similar to how emote works) but it is there and it does its job.

Oh, God, the fun you could have with $n. >.>
