They look straight into the camera and
begin: "Thank you for joining us for our first-ever special news report from the New Republic News Network. We go now to Tatooine, where Cygnus Vho, interim leader of the New Republic, is making an announcement."
The footage cuts to an assuming human man, a sense of weariness about him, standing on a stage before the gathering crowds as he begins to speak. "People of Tatooine. I am Cygnus Vho, interim leader of The New Republic. As we continue our transition from a popular movement into a functional government, I am honored announce to you that Tatooine's provisional government has elected to join the New Republic. After years of neglect by the galactic community and the landscape having been ravaged by weapons testing, Tatooine is in need of change. We are ready to stand with you and provide development loans and assistance to help Tatooine rise to its full potential, and we are honored to welcome you into the New Repbulic as a full charter member." His mood grows somber as he pauses a bit, looking upon the crowds and the cameras as he announces "This, together with the signing of the formal Declaration of Peace with the Galactic Empire and the Charter of the New Republic later this afternoon, will mark my final act as leader of this group. It has been my distinct honor to work alongside so many courageous and dedicated people to fight for the values of freedom and self-determination that are now at work today. When the Senate finally convenes, it will choose its new leader to carry this government forward into its next chapter. May we all know peace in our day, and may calmer heads and better policies carry us through to tomorrow." With that, Vho walks calmly off the stage as the feed cuts back to the reporters.
