Syntax: news <#>
The news command shows articles describing the in-character events of the game.
Each timeline, the news articles are wiped to begin with a fresh slate. Early
news articles typically describe the background for the current era or
timeline. As the story progresses, the news articles form a good summary of
important galactic events.
News Submissions
Players can ask staff via immchat or an application on the website to post
their own content as a news article. This should be reserved for the most
significant events, including things like wars beginning or ending, leadership
changes of major clans, or RP surrounding changes in planet ownership.
Legitimacy
To avoid confusion between official sources and player-submitted news, all
player submissions will typically be filed under the "Other" category, as
opposed to GNI. All news articles within the GNI category are posted by members
of staff, and should be taken as the official version of events. The Other news
category may contain propaganda or misleading content, and may be viewed with
skepticism.
