DEATH DYING HOSPITAL SAFE

[:: Legends Of The Jedi ::]

General Information

Death and Safe Areas
LotJ features a very unique death system. Some areas are considered "safe". A
safe area means that if you die, you are taken to a hospital to recover. To
check if your in a safe area, enter the SCORE command. If you see Safe(X)
status somewhere, then you're in a safe zone and will be taken to a hospital
and logged out when "killed". You will be able to log in at extremely low
health and potentially deal with RP repercussions depending on the situation,
but your character is still alive and accessible. However, if your score status
displays Safe( ), then area you are in is *NOT* safe. This means that if you're
successfully killed, your character is permanently dead (aka permed). See Also:

Unsafe Situations
Besides the area itself not being a safe zone, there are other reasons you may
NOT be safe:
* You must have 5,000 credits on hand (not bank) for hospital fees.
* You are on an enemy planet while at war (EG: You are a Rebel player
on an Imperial-owned Coruscant)
* There is no hospital in the area (dangerous endgame areas)
* You are in space without an envirosuit.

"Accidental" Deaths
There has been some confusion over "accidental" deaths and restores. While this
is not a comprehensive list, it includes some common scenarios. You will not
get restored for dying during surgery, using the suicide or delete commands,
fighting pirates, flying into a sun, or making grenades on your ships. A player
being under the influence of drugs or alcohol is also not a valid reason for a
restore.

Hospital Escapism
Rarely, a character may attempt to avoid being captured by their enemy by
purposefully (attacking a mob without valid reason, blowing themselves up with
a grenade, etc.) getting themselves sent to a hospital on a safe world. Once
hospitalized, they then will not log in until they are fairly certain their
enemy is no longer there to detain them. This is exceedingly unrealistic,
illegal, and is a perfect example of abusing game mechanics in an attempt to
avoid roleplay.
