BUILDPORT BP
legendsofthejedi.com port 5600 (please do not connect unless you have business,it's not a place to hang out)
#building on Discord (you can hang out here!)
The Build Port is a separate instance of LOTJ where staff and players alike
work on assembling new content for the game. At it's core, LOTJ uses the
standards SMAUG OLC building system with many years of exclusive enhancements,
including an extensive LUA implementation.

LOTJ LUA API documentation: https://lotj.github.io/lua-docs/index.html
Interested in building for LOTJ? Great! We are always on the lookout for
players of all experience levels who want to contribute. PLEASE NOTE: Building
a new planet is a monumental undertaking. Before you ask, this work is reserved
for staff members and experienced builders only.
&161Designing New Ships
Designing new ship templates is a great way for new builders to get their feet
wet. This consists of two phases: Building out ship rooms, then assembling it
into a "ship" using setship. Setting ships stats is reserved for staff members,
as they change era-by-era.
&161New Questing Areas
We are keen on adding new areas filled with content to our pre-existing
planets: whether it's leveling, obtaining gear, or providing roleplay
environments. Think Tatooine junkyard, Mon Cala hunting grounds, or Wroona's
Blackrock Cove.
&161Area-Agnostic Events (EXPERIMENTAL, LUA REQUIRED)
Walldo has been working on a new LUA framework that allows event NPCs and
objects to deploy to planets. These events are self-contained and should not
require staff babysitting.
&161Deep Space Encounters/Spacespawns
LOTJ has an in-depth system for spawning space encounters scripted in LUA
(Changes 2245). This is what powers things like asteroid harvesting and
exogorth encounters, and we'd like to add more. Work can include LUA scripting,
ship assembly, and classic building knowledge.
Interested in building? Reach out on immchat or #building on Discord to talk
with a staff member. Be ready to discuss ideas, and for more in-depth concepts,
we may ask you to flesh out a plan before you can get started. Our capacity for
new projects depends on staff availability - thank you for understanding.
