Policy Information

Private Bounties
Any bounty (capture or disintegration) placed in a manner other than going to a
coded bounty office and posting a bounty with the BOUNTY command is considered
a private bounty. This includes things like "hitman for hire" or
assassinations.

Direct Character Knowledge
Private bounties must be placed against a SPECIFIC person whom your character
KNOWS. In other words, you must have a greet or a dub of the target and be able
to supply it to the bounty hunter. This extends even to bounties against
members of a clan. Each target must be known to your character, and must be
specified by name and given a greet or dub. You may NOT place blanket private
bounties such as "any member of the Empire" or "the leaders of the Rebellion".

Bountier Responsibility
Furthermore, as with public bounties, any private disintegration bounty that
you place must have an IC reason and fulfill the conditions covered in &231HELP
PERM. The placers will bear the onus of the RP and will take the responsibility
for all actions as a result of the bounty if a restore case is submitted.
