CLOAK CLOAKING

Syntax: cloak

This allows a vessel that has a cloaking device installed to cloak, thereby
hiding itself from the galaxy -- Visually and electronically. A cloaked ship is
unable to be targeted in any way by weapon systems, communications or
electronic warfare techniques, and will foil any attempt to ping the
transponder via Locateship. A cloaked ship will still disrupt attempts to enter
hyperspace by ships within 500 units of the cloaked ship.

Those inside a cloaked ship will still be able to visually observe the system
around them, however they will be isolated wholly from outside world -- unable
to communicate, perform status scans, electronic warfare techniques or dock. A
cloaked ship will find it impossible to ascertain ship coordinates, including
their own. A cloaked ship is unable to calculate a hyperspace route, let alone
retain a plotted hyperspace route before, nor able to engage its hyperdrive. A
cloaked ship is able to maintain orbit of a planet, but without sensor readings
a pilot will find it all but impossible to land safely. Likewise, docking is
all but impossible without sensors to compensate.
