You realise you just said that too the person who spent 14 hours makeing 23 droids and tuneing 10,000 comlinks to abuse the translation droids into monitoring every talk channel in game?

Then the Imperials ripped it off, and were monitoring the Rebel Navy Channel until we started recreating Spaceballs on it when we figured out they were listening.

The guy who actually got on and asked us to stop was priceless, and it was COMPLETELY ad-libbed on our part.

Also: Easy way to counteract the issue of transferring to alts or abusing it in some way by only being something you can do if you know the person and if they’re online.

I.E. Flek wants to transfer me a million credits in payment for me kicking somebodies face in for him. So he does Transfer (His Account) 1000000 Gidoran and it would transfer a million credits to an account I owned, at random, automatically spilling over into my next account if mine’s full already.

To top it off, you could even make it cost credits to send them this way… It costs money to use an ATM, right? So you have to put in a little extra money for it to go through. Say, Ten percent, so you’d have to have 1,100,000 to send a million to someone.

      what about something like…
      Transfer <credits><person> ok

then the recipient gets the message: Pyke wishes to transfer money to your account. Please type Transfer accept <account number> to accept this credit transfer.

This way noone has to give out any information. as we do now, we are sending it to the PERSON and not the account, so I don’t see any change in the way it’s RP’d…..

then you need 2 checks. First is the person online? If they arnt you cant transfer then oh know… I can uses this as another way to see if someone is online or not hey bob trasnfers joe 2 credits … he got it ok he is alive/online lets go get him! the other thing is if you can transfer reguardless of online status well lets alt cheat shall we. Oh account association no problem lets use a proxy for a diff alt transfer him a few mill then attach it to account later!

Not allowing transfer of funds if the recipient is offline is no different than the current system of drones. Drones tell you if a player is currently online and that seems to work just dandy. I don’t see a problem with a similar system here.

I gotta say no-go on this one. The idea is to force people to RP with each other, and take risks.

Yeah little like droneing. Except wise and rational! I fucking hate drones. I have NEVER send a drone to anyone. I have received one once yeah. Drone came and dropped my my bosses brand new BH datachip I was suppose to borrow. That was fun. Except I was in a fucking ferry on Wroona and in next second ferry arrived to its destination and I was thrown into lobby and fucking ferry, drone and my bosses datachip were gone forever. I even remember that some IMM said to me something like: "RP it and tell him that drone sunk into ocean…" Fucking awesome…

So stupid. I cant find it fitting in star wars galaxy that people are sending flashlights to each other via little fucking drones that travel trough space and time and find that idiot without flashlight in deepest mines Ryloth in no time… Get rid of that droid concept! Its fucking horrible!

I don’t see what the big deal is. You say it’d be a problem for someone to hack the account. Hacking takes time.

Here, plain and simple is the solution.

Both parties involved must be on at the same time.
In order to prevent FUTURE hacking, once you get the credits, simply remove them from that account and put it into another. Having two accounts, one for transfers, one where you keep all your loot. And then of course, like it was mention, just have a accept/deny thing so you can’t use it as a way to see if someone is online or not. Not hard ladies and gents. Common sense now.

I also agree with the idea of getting rid of the drones.

hacking is pretty much useless anyway, because there’s no reason for anyone to give you an account number, no way to find it out, and even less incentive to protect an account from the minuscule threat of a hack. Perhaps if there was a skill like this, people would give out account number more, and would pay to protect their accounts more, thus providing business for slicers.

Wrong, wrong and wrong. I can honestly say that I’ve gotten more than 5 millions by just hacking randomly for accounts. There are like thousands of characters and every third has at least 3 accounts. The odds of finding the treasurechest aren’t that small

To be honest I think this would increase the risk of getting your account hacked by far.

      Two commands:

      bank settransfer <account #>
This picks which of your accounts to use for transfer

      bank transfer <target name> <amount>
This transfers the given number of credits to the named recipient’s designated account.

Perhaps even a clan version, an empowerment clan_transferfunds, then "transferfunds <amount> <target>" and "transferfunds <amount> <clan>", and this would, of course, show on banklist.

And as for "you should have to RP with people" there’s no RP in sending ten thousand drones, half of which get lost or randomly disappear or disappear because of a crash or whatever. There’s no RP in spending five minutes in a bank repeating withdraw 2 mil, drop 2 mil, other guy picks up 2 mil, deposits 2 mil…

Well, again, as I said in the past, it would increase the chance of your account getting hacked, giving slicers more to do — and more people wanting their accounts protected.

The way I suggested it, there’d be no increased risk of hacking, because the account would work just like how the accounts work for if you own a pubby.

But there needs to be increased risk.
