Timeline-Fixing Idea

So a bunch of people have been pissing and moaning that this Era is "fucked up" due to power balance issues, etc. etc. Mostly all IC stuff.

So, without getting too much into the problem that I get people mad at me, allow me to outline the solution.

C’mon. We all know how this works. Just when shit’s looking unfair, like soandso is going to beat soandsoandso, even though we all know that soandsoandso SHOULD be winning, and we all know they should win, in come a bunch of ridiculous little teddy-bears with rocks and slings and crap, and they destroy an entire army’s worth of soandso’s.

Don’t give me that "You’re fucking joking" stare. I know what you’re all doing.

Think about it: Ewoks. The solution to everything you’ve ever pissed and moaned about on the MUD. (i.e. "How come there are no more episodes of Hank Snagglebottom?" answer: "Because we need Ewoks in the game so that Hank Snagglebottom can become a REALITY.")

Who’s with me? Come on, you know you wanna. Ewoks as a playable race! It should happen, because I said it should.

So should the race cost lots of points? Or be deposit heavy and cost little points?

Well, I mean, they’d be super awesome. But the point is to get enough of them in game to "balance" things out (read: Stop people pissing and moaning about one thing, and give them something else to piss and moan about instead.) Soooo… maybe they’d be free/super cheap at first, and then made really expensive later. Sort of a "Grab ’em while you can!" idea.

It also gives elitist-ish players something to brag about later. Like, somebody joins/comes back to the MUD and they’re all like "Damn I wish I could afford an Ewok." And then everybody who got them for cheap signs on and makes a secret Ewok-only club ICly.

It would be fantastic. We’d have Ewok parties.

You all want Ewok parties. Put Ewoks in the game.

And you might question this and say "BUT WHERE DOES IT SAY YOU CAME UP WITH IT, BAI?! WHERE????"

The senior class at my high school had a "Star Wars Day" for Homecoming Week. Two guys dressed up like Ewoks (gorilla outfits with different fabric and the little fabric ninja hat things). If I could find my camera I’d upload a pic; it was pretty fucking win.

This is my first era playing on Lotj, and I think it’s all right, but I’m an independant and not allied with any organization. I’ve done my bit here and there to assist the fringe and not get killed in the process, but I figure that a healthy balance of power is key. There aren’t enough active criminal organizations, I believe, and that leads to the main heavyweights slugging it out ever so slowly over planets, where the bulk of the MUD should be occupied with all of the political maneuverings between the small time organizations instead of the galactic epic changes in planet control. If you give the small organizations some political weight to play with planetary control, no doubt there would be more weight put on them.

Oh, there ARE active criminal organizations.

They just cover their tracks so well that not many people know about them.
