(OOC) ****: I hate being stuck in one clan, it gets boring
(IMM) Walldo: No, multiclanning was the worst
(IMM) Walldo: Then you’re playing LotJ wrong
(IMM) Walldo: You aren’t matching your play style!
Well, I thought it’d be nice if we had one of those tests that you take and tell you what character/role you’re best fit to play on lotj!
I’m gonna try and make a first draft and I’ll be updating it with anything I come up with!
Any ideas are welcome.

Things like:
-Roleplay Level: Casual/Moderate/Intense/Dress Up IRL
-Favourite Class to play as.
-Preferred weapons, outfits. You could also fashion it sort of like Fallout 3, or KOTOR: Where you’re asked hypothetical situations and your response.
You are a recruit in the republic military. During a routine patrol you come across a gang of swoop thugs robbing a bank.
Do you:
A) Open Fire!!!
Call for back up on your comlink.
C) Run away!
or
D) Rig their swoops to blow. Then link a combination of answers to a certain class and play style.
‘You are a mercenary! Why be tied down to a clan when you can wander the outer rim and work for them all? Credits, and your old E-11 blaster are your best friend. Commitment is your enemy.’
I’ve always liked this approach in games.

I’m thinking that after taking the test, one should be presented with one trait from each of the following categories:
1) War thirsty – Casual Boy – Flower picking Pacifist
2) Engineer – Pilot – Warrior – Computer/Spy/Smuggler
3) Enjoys RP much – So So – I’m a loner, don’t care meeting other people.

You could also incorporate alignment into it, and maybe preferred era of play/clan/some such?
I’d suggest race, on top of it all, but that would be insanely time consuming to create.

More questions like the one Altrez suggested, though something like;
You spot Character X doing something going against the grain, do you :
A) Introduce yourself and join in the mayhem?
Approach them and proceed to lecture them on the wrongness of it all?
C) Ignore Character X, you were doing that same thing yesterday?
D) Be proactive, questions and lectures are for hippies, smack down is how i roll!In effect a multi-tiered poll would be the best bet, ‘What level of RP do you involve yourself in: RP?/Minimal/Moderate/This. is. RP!"’ Followed with a ‘What characters do you generally play Fighter(Combat&BH)/Helper(Slicer&Medical&Leader&Engineering)/Aggravating(Espionage&Smuggler)’.
RJ’s comment on races also does weigh in heavily on the choices, what with all those weirdo’s who roll Jawa’s in some misguided desire to be the little beady eyed tweaker character that everyone else hates or barely tolerates. Some people (Allowing points for better suited chars) tend to roll combaty type races so they can cause mischief and still get the boost to combat to handle themself. Others will roll the -60 combat races and pro dominantly be helpers with little to no desire towards griefing others.

I don’t get the blanking out of an account name on the OOC channel discussing an OOC topic. Not to mention misquoting! <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt="

Lets not forget Walldo’s other comment at the end;

If you are going to inject races into it, there are certain ones you can eliminate from consideration simply because you can pretty much assume that they are one certain way all the time.
For example:
Dashade – Normally aggressive and belligerant
Trandoshans – Much the same
Jawas – Cowardly and opportunistic
Alderaanian – PacifisticGranted, this wouldn’t work for all races, but a good portion of them are confined to a set behavior pattern 99.999999% of the time.

You assume people play races how they’re meant to be played <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="
" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>But yeah, playing them appropriately would eliminate a fair few. Though its still peoples desire to play that type of character even if the rp does match. Which means they do have a play style.

Well it’s a pretty simple breakdown for me:
Character Archtype – Helper or Aggravating
Character Alignments – Usually either Good or Neutral
Chaotic Meter – Either Lawful or NeutralI’ve been flirting with different archtypes/alignments/chaotics, but this is where I normally stand. It limits me to playing certain types races, but that’s okay.
