I’m bored, let’s talk about Dwarf Fortress! My metalcrafter is building a legendary… Something. I hope it’s good!
UPDATE: This is a Bloodmetal scepter. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality. This object is adorned with hanging rings of Crucible steel and menaces with spikes of Bloodmetal and Crucible steel.
I’m gonna give it to my sad cook. She’s the only reason I even bought the Bloodmetal!

I haven’t been playing. The last time I did a goblin scouting crew found my fortress. So they run in, and I have three military guys, so I’m like.. crap. Then I remember you can conscript anyone.
So it was kind of like this:
The goblins who manage to make it through falling boulders and weapons springing out of the walls find the gate to Altrez’ fortress.
"There it is!" A Goblin scout leader says, "Get em!"
"For Pony!" One of them cries.
The goblins chase after a few poor dwarves and enter the main hall of the fort. There waiting for them is a newly conscripted army of very pissed off dwarves. The goblins are circled and beaten to a pulp.
And everyone lived happily ever after.
..Especially with the new goblin bones to make crafts out of.

Yeah, I have a disgusting amount of Orc bones. …and one of the Orc raiders was wearing a Halfling bone crown. Maybe he was a king?

I’m pretty sure I gave you that link.

So yeah. My fortress is coming along swimmingly, though it trudges at around 15 fps at the best of times. 50-something Dwarves including my KING, who snuck in disguised as a peasant. I’ve lost a few to various seiges and ambushes, but for the most part my fortress is unstoppable. I haven’t even had any real use for a military yet, so I’m training them up now and trying to arm/equip them as best I can. Haven’t had too much luck with forging weapons and armor yet, trying to get someone up to legendary armorer status so I can use this adamantine.

Wow. Talk about ridiculously complex.
I’m having a blast just following Walldo’s ultimate noob guide link though.
Love building games like this. Sweeeeet.
