From Wookieepedia.com:
“The Jawa Trade language was a language used by the citizens of Tatooine to communicate with the native Jawas to trade and barter. It was a simplified form of Jawaese that Jawas themselves had accepted to use when dealing with non-Jawas. It provided an additional advantage, as Jawas cannot pronounce Basic language because of their vocal limitations. However, Jawa Trade language did not include the pheromonally-produced emphasis that appears in Jawa language. One word is “Utinni” which is a shout of astonishment or surprise.”
What if we were to split Jawa communication into two languages… First, the native tongue which only jawas are born with and only they can speak or understand (not even protocol droids as I believe most will be unable to sense pheromones), and second the Jawan Trade language, which anyone can learn including jawas to communicate.
This would provide both a thematic balance and provide the door to leave behind the “me no like” talk which plagues many by providing a proper language through which proper grammar and words can be used.
Your thoughts?

I don’t think adding this would really contribute anything to the mud. It makes sense in principle but there are a dozen other languages players could just as easily learn for a ‘trade’ language. It reminds me a bit of the issues with Huttese, which canonly is the second-most spoken language after basic.

It’d still be the same in that if a human needed to talk to a jawa, they’d have to learn the jawan trade language (instead of just jawan or whatever it is now) and they’d be able to communicate. BUt jawas would also have a seperate language remaining for their own talk.
It may indeed just be a waste, I was just reading about jawas and thought this could add a little to the game and maybe get away from the child talk stereotype.
