I was listening to zero, and thinking over things, and I think there could be more markets in game to help individual players get rich/start businesses, especially as next TL there’s an indefinite amount of space without formclan present.

Now, everyone is going to be thinking at this stage; "my character has fifty million in his bank, getting rich is easy"…And yeah, anyone can make an engineer and sell a few dozen sets of decent armour/good repeaters and walk away as rich as. But what about "businessmen"? The non-engineering types and the ones who don’t want to have to rack up a million hours in a high paying clan to get rich?

One way would be players being allowed to quest for/pay x amount/(app) for a "taxi lisence" allowing them to purchase more than three ships if x amount of them are public taxis. Thus they make money and start an enterprise their very own.

This is just one idea I had about allowing individuals/non-clanned/non-engineer people to make their riches. There are probably loads more…this might even be better discussed in the General Discussion board, but I’m interested to see what everyone else thinks.

You can own as many public shuttles as you want. I had a char who had about eight of them. You just have to makepub each one before you go over the three ship limit. Once they’re public, you don’t own them.

I’d be more interested in seeing new things to SPEND your credits on. Making them is easy, but after a certain point it just becomes useless since there’s nothing to do with 50mil in the bank other than brag.

This is one of those times when a realistic economy comes in nicely, but the problem is… you don’t want to make anything essential hinge on absurd amounts of credits, or else you’ll have people hoarding and using illegal methods to keep themselves rich.

Oh right, I didn’t realize that about the taxis, my apologies. I should pay more attention. Did your eight bring much money in?

I get where you’re coming from, Avanga. A realistic(or more "realistic") economy would be great, but it has as many disadvantages as it does advantages. Anyone else got any ideas on things that could be added/seen?

A hutt (owned clan) with it’s own Casino was cool, but there wasn’t much to do on the casino. I think more people should make hutts and try to start their own illegal ends…hell, ship racing, poll fixing..anything crime syndicatey!

In keeping in the spirit of this thread, perhaps a piloting (or leadership, since it needs more boosts) feat that lets you break the "3 owned ships" limit?
While you’re at it, feats to break the 1 droid limit, the 1 house limit, etc?

No, they did not. I actually did it as soon as the code came in, thinking it would be an awesome investment, but they never managed to pay themselves off. Of course, my char died, but the pubbies stayed in circulation… so I’m assuming eventually, they were making me credits.

      Now there’s an idea.(RJ)

I’d say make it diplomacy or leadership, could even call it "entrepreneurism", and have it allow things like breaking those limits for you to become your own little businessman extraordinaire!

      And, sucks to hear that, Avanga. Should have invested in pubbie-Acclamators and munificients. <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!– s:P –>

There are less houses than players in the game as it is. &quot;Nice&quot; places to live, like Lorrd and Wroona almost never have houses available. And the ones on Coruscant go quickly too. Imagine how much worse it’d be if characters could have more than one home… X_X

Though that being said, being able to have more than one droid would be awesome. Or at the very least being able to suspend ownership of your droid without giving it to somebody else (engineers who aren’t clanned can’t own a droid if they intend to make them, which is incredibly frustrating.)

I agree with Kora on the house subject. Houses go WAY too fast. Allowing more then one per person, is just chaotic. Though, if it was open to people who were &quot;businessmen&quot; I can see it actually putting in a neat thing for players to RP. Technicly, you can start your own enterprise, it’s called formclan. And Leadership already has the salesman feat, so that’s kinda a moot point. Diplomacy, ehh.. I wish Diplomacy in game was more realistic my self. I mean, how many times have we heard of Diplomatic meetings with the Chacellor of the Republic? How many times have we really gotten to -vote- for anything?

Not many, in my experiance, though, my experiance with IC politics is little. But I’m derailing, anyway, I honestly would like to see something along the lines of a business class. Where-as people are actually buying/selling houses, ships, etc. And trying to kill the competition, and rising to the top of the corperate ladder. That’d be neat. Though, thinking about it, it happens still even as we are. Which sorta kinda kills the entire point of this thread. Being able to buy/sell realstate would be neat.
