Ideas:

      1) It could fit into diplomacy at about level 50?; You could ask the populace on the planet about a player and they could indicate if he’d been seen on the planet recently and what the nearest taxi destination he was seen near was? I know this could be used more so by Hunters but as most people like their combat/BH bonus’d races they mostly have minus’ to diplomacy and the likes not to mention low charisma which would balance its use/availability.

      2) We have a torture skill, why not an interrogate(intimidate?) skill? You would need at least two people also in a group with yourself, the idea being to bully information out of an npc(along the lines as above) but it would garner if he was last seen on the planet by locals and what he/she was wearing? As this would be usable by some combatants i’d recommend it be around 90-100+ skill level in leadership. Perhaps as a side consideration it could give you the persons description. Although knowing how half the players are, this would somehow be abused or flamed by those people who hate giving people more ways of finding(hunting:P) people. Your only escape would be floating in uncharted or logging off on a Capital Ship/Space Station <!– s:P –><!– s:P –>

Both skills would require a greet, dubs would not work as they’re considered to be alias’ and not a legitimate name.

Good ideas, both of them, but too low level

More in the way of non-BH tracking on random planets needs to be implemented. Both these ideas could work and also help classes in need of a few nice skills to make them useful to a broad range of players.

Maybe have two versions of the same thing. One would be under diplo, and the other under leadership. Have the group intimidate one for leadership, and a different skill called "persuade" or something like that for diplo. Persuade could have cha incorporated into the success/failure roll, and maybe require a small amount of credits or something.

      Persuade <mob> <target> <amount> i.e. persuade buff Shiny 100

Maybe have the success be based on: random roll + cha + (.25*credits) >= target’s cha + mob wis + some other number ?

Or we could just combine Diplomacy and Leadership into a type of ‘Politicial’ Class.

While that makes sense, there are a lot of military leaders who are good LEADERS(hint hint) but terrible DIPLOMATS/POLITICIANS.

Well, that reverts us to a previous conversation of how Leadership mains arn’t tuned well to being LEADERS. I’m half ready to say, put all the Leadership skills into Diplomacy and do an Industry to it. We turned the Industry class into Science. Let’s make an all new class. I don’t know what to make, but we could probably think of something badass from Star Wars.

One issue I see, especially if you are working only with greets, is the npcs would never have gotten the greets and therefore would not be able to tell you if they actually so who you wanted them to. The only thing that would make sense is if they told you they saw so and so race in the last five minutes or something, but not a specific person.
