What if when you get an approved spyapp, you get a flag on your character that enables forcers to detect that you’re not being entirely honest? It would have to be a lvl +90 force skill.
Please discuss…

Sounds like a bad idea if you actually want spies in clans. Personally I dont think someone should be given a spyapp unless there is a huge amount of IC reason and extenuating circumstances to make them need it. I’m sure that people who like spying on their clan will hate it. <!– s:mrgreen: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="" title="Mr. Green" /><!– s:mrgreen: –>

This. Is a terrible idea.
I know Jedi are supposed to have higher senses and things like that, but as far as LotJ goes this is just something that would ruin all actual espionage. Ever. Any 110 forcer would just start spamming this skill on every person they met, and I could see some/most informing the appropriate clanleader that, "Hey, thisdude who happens to be in yourclan seems a little fishy to me." To which appropriate-clanleader will say to themselves, "Hm, next time something awry goes wrong, or the enemy seems to know our movements… or… anything, really… I WILL BLAME IT ON THISDUDE. I KNOW HE HAS SPYAPP!"
I just don’t see it working out.
Edit: To clarify, look at it from a rebel/imperial standpoint. If you’re busting into the other clan to win some info back for the home team, you’re not going to last long if that forcer happens to be anywhere near you. And making a point out of avoiding high-level Jedi/Sith in ‘your’ clan for whatever the reason is going to make you slightly suspicious-looking to begin with. It just… I feel like it would break a lot of RP because of people who would just flippantly use the skill.

No no no please god no.
Forcers already do too much crap just with whatever that Force skill is that shows them a person’s alignment (which there needs to be some kind of block on this too…).

Thats your big "Forcers do to much" go to card? The alignment checker that has nothing to do with anything? Its so rare that people RP their alignment anyways, I figured this skill would have been removed due to its lack of realistic use.
As for the original idea, I like the idea…because unlike the others I think Forcers should be able to do things that they can do canon wise. However, there’s no logical way to implement this idea, so at the same time I don’t like it. As previously pointed out, the abuse to this would just be off the charts.

I didn’t say they "DO TOO MUCH PEROID." I said they "DO TOO MUCH WITH THAT FORCE SKILL THAT SHOWS WHATEVER THE PERSON’S ALIGNMENT IS." I should get Force and go around detecting everyone’s alignment and just say "I don’t trust you." "Why?" "Something on the winds tells me you’re not a good person." <
Pathetic… Legal? Yes, but still pathetic.

If forcers even remotely did that, lets say to 10% of the people they meet…they wouldn’t trust the majority of the people they come across. Like I said, almost nobody RPs their alignment fully. The only time alignment even comes into play is Force skills/spells. There’s even past posts on the forums talking about this concept. I’m not trying to fight for this idea or anything, I just found it funny out of all the things that Forcers can do…you picked that one to argue lol.

Yeah I’m not gonna argue the point. I’ll just leave with two words: "Era One"
Back on topic, I’m vehemently opposed to this idea if you can’t tell

Yeah, I’ve seen people get permed because some forcer did detect_intent and decided to off them for an alignment they picked in the middle of leveling because they were frozen until they did.

I concur with Fishy. Detect_intent is already bad, I would definitely hate to see this skill go in simply because it promotes perming and takes away the point of even getting a spyapp if there’s a forcer in your clan. If anything, espionage and spies need more tools at their disposal.

Or modified so that it determines the result by the amount of pkills, alignment and force affiliation.
..or something.

It is bad enough you have forcers going DETECT INTENT, SEE OPPOSING ALIGNMENT OF THE NORM IN CLAN, "OMG HE MAY BE TROUBLE.".
Usually it’s Jedi that do this, and it’s annoying as hell. Please do not toss in something for them to do this with spyapps.
