New slicer skill: mailhack <character> [<intercept>]
Hacks the target character’s mailbox, making a copy of the messages stored there. If the intercept option is used, it takes the mail instead of just copying it.Searchlocker <player>

This empowerment can only be used if a) you are authroized to and b) you are in a locker room on a planet your clan controls (including ships parked on clannie-controlled worlds).Both of these skills are designed with the idea of actually being able to obtain evidence against a subject in an investigation. But there would need to be a rule against someone using this to steal items i.e. akin to the WARRANT empowerment.
in fact… why not make it: searchlocker <player> <item keyword>
To disable an officer’s ability to search lockers for anything other than the specific item they’re after.

Because NO, going into someone eleses locker is bull shit period no matter how many guardas you put on it or even just looking for specific items. Hrm today fusion cutters are illegal so im gonna search everyones locker for one. Oh wait thats against rules well Ill wait till imms arnt paying attention. This is a game it will always be a game this is not rl and searching someone elses locker is a big violation any way you look at it. Thats why with the warrent empowerment they stoped locker opening and robbing even tho technicly you cant you get in seriouse trouble messing with lockers via warrent.

Well, that at least was a specific criticism, thank you. I just find it truely irritating… borderline on cheating… that you can go after someone with the intent of capturing them, and suddenly everything they were holding is utterly beyond your reach if they happened to be in a locker room at the time.
That is, as they say, utter bullshit.

How about you stop trying to use the forums to implement more unneeded bullshit?
Regardless, what in the hell would you need this skill for? There are no unique items. If it’s a quest item, deal with it. You can always pull a Rahloow and block the locker exit and force them to open their locker or die. At least that involves more legitimate RP than getting a new clan empowerment added just so you can go about the mud yoinking the best equipment during non-peak hours.

We’re in the brainstorming forum. It’s SUPPOSED to be a place where we can bounce ideas to improve the MUD off of each other without getting the kind of hostility you’re putting off.
