Just another idea with this bolstering of meaning for comms and such on ships. “Taphail” would essentially link you to another ship in the system (it would have a fairly high range). When I say link I mean you will simply be able to hear hails coming from and going to that ship in particular. If successful the ship will have no way of knowing (I would suggest a time limit, depending on your ships comms rating). If you fail, they’ll get a beep or a ping and be alerted to the attempted hack.
