Disassemble – This is actually a helpfile, that’s been around for the last two years, and am wondering if it’ll ever become a skill.
How I see it, It’ll be like the opposite of construction(Duh), you get all the parts from the object.

But there should be a catch, such as, if you fail. You lose all the parts, and the item. But I see it as somewhat, like the perfect jawa skill, or the perfect science skill.

"How does it work?"

You should need obviously, a toolkit.
A hydrospanner, and possibly level 45 in engineering or science.
And you can only disassemble player-created objects.

Or maybe it could be a feat for one of the two.

I just wish to see this skill implimented before the world ends. <!– s:P –><!– s:P –>

And another idea, would probably, to make it so you can customize the name of circuits with the makecircuit command. I found this skill to be lacking the custobility(Is that even a word?) that it’s sister skills have.

As for blasters, this is an idea I’ve been trying to pass off for years now. Revamp them, completely. I’m tired of seeing people running around wielding dual "XX7-FS Blaster Carbine" and "E-11 Blaster rifle"

Did you see the stormtroopers dualwielding their rifles? No they didn’t. Nor did Han and Luke when they went in-cognito.

How I see blaster creation, is a long process, ofcourse, to find the right materials. It should always be a challenge, that’s the point of making the "perfect" blaster. But I also, disapprove of the flexability. Instead of straight makeblaster <name> it should be, makeblaster <type> <name>.

Pistols would be easily the choice, due to their dual-wieldability. But they’d also be the weakest.

Next up, would be blaster carbines, the sort of low-powered rifle. Slightly more powerful then Pistols, but require two hands.

Then Rifles, self-explanitory, and would require two hands to wield and be the most powerful.

Then we have, Light Repeating Blasters, the gatling gun. Would require the wielder to need to be on the ground to fire, or something of the sort.

Just the ideas, really. I’m just really tired of seeing people running around with dual "Blaster Rifles"

Disassemble is a bad idea, not because retrieving the component parts is overpowered, but because it would let engineers copy each other’s formulas without any real effort. It’s also not feasible, if my understanding of how player-made objects work is correct.

Since this idea has been suggested roughly ten times by now, first by myself, way back in 2004–as "Reverse Engineering" on the old forums–I’ll just put forth a few arguments/suggestions from the earlier versions.
1) High probability for some of the items in the "formula" to turn to trash that tells only what type of item they were (with a science-assisted examine).
2) HIGH. LEVEL. I50 science seems to be the most popular; now, it could be put in as a feat. The sciences would be used to determine what can be disassembled. Destruction – blasters, grenades, vibroblades; spacecraft – ships (yes, you would be able to turn a ship into its component hull, engines, etc–chop shop, anyone?).

P.S. A hydrospanner was exclusively used for ship manufacture and maintenance; you’re thinking of a toolkit (i.e. a screwdriver).
P.P.S. Don’t overestimate yourself. The idea of having blaster classes (and classes for other weapons, i.e. vibroblades) has been around for far longer than you have; it’s even in game, albeit without carbines. Old Republic-issue blaster rifles last major timeline required both hands to wield. The only problem with the code is that it hasn’t been implemented into the makeblaster skill yet.
P.P.P.S. What the fuck @ Halo 3-esque portable gatling guns. [b:2ryc96si]NO.[/b:2ryc96si]

Wasn’t talking, actual portable. I was actually talking about turrets. Plus, I’ve never played Halo 3. Or 2. Or even 1. Therefore your comment is void, really. I was talking about light repeating blasters. Like in Battlefront 2, and then there’s the portable turrets. It’s just an idea, no need to be assholes about it.

Might as well bring back extra attack Wookiees, while you’re at it.
