Clan_greet is the bane of my existence. I currently have someone’s greet more than 11 times on my memory. I also have multiple situations of dubbing someone, getting informed of them later by someone else and then getting greeted by them later….So I have 3 names of 1 person on my memory…in various forms. There are also dubs from people who are long dead. I’d love to see a way of removing a dub/name from the list so that I can clean up the list and not have it scroll 3 pages due to all the repeats.

What I’d like more, but may be harder to code, would be something that prevented a dub/greet from being added to your mem list when informed if you already have it. Instead, have it flash up a message saying something like "FemHumTan3 sounds a lot like StupidBitch." If they’re describing the person to me in such great detail that I’d be able to recognize them, I should also be able to realize if I’ve already seen the person in question. …On that note, it’d be nice if you got a message containing the greet/dub at every inform either way.
Lynette carefully describes Gabrielle to you.
Gabrielle sounds a lot like EvaLongoria.I guess the ability to remove greets/dubs would have it’s uses. As would being able to edit them.
CommNet 0 [2DalmationMale]: My name is Pongo.
redub 2dalmationmale pongo
2DalmationMale will now be known as ‘Pongo’ to you.I’m sure most of what I suggested as been suggested before. It’d still be awesome.

If you’re in the same room as them, and it is infact just a dub, you can change it. Or you used to be able to. I haven’t tried in a while.

He means he wants to be able to redub people without them being in the room.

She, Gathorn. She."Quicksilver":cy0yi10s wrote:Why, when you can just hunt them down?[/quote:cy0yi10s]
Because there’s no logical reason why I should need to. And there are plenty of people who rarely leave clan bases/wherever they’re hiding. I don’t like having my characters do things that they don’t have an IC reason to do. I’m not going to have my character hunt down somebody they don’t need to talk in person to just so that I can change their dub. That’s why the example I gave was somebody speaking over channel zero. There are instances where you learn somebody’s name but they’re not there.

That is a pretty sexy idea, Kora’s anyways, as well as the original remove dub. Both should be implemented. MAKE IT HAPPEN NUMBER 1!

I just always used a cmud trigger to #substitute <currentdub> <Name|currentdub> and redubbed when I eventually saw them.

No idea. My recommendation is that you convert to cmud/zmud. <!– s:roll: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!– s:roll: –>
