This is something that needs to be done in character. Here’s the help file for help science:

      What is the science class?

The science class is a class for people who want to be educated or methodically
scientific people. All of the levels are gained by using PONDER, STUDY and then
by HYPOTHESIS and finally THEORIZE. If any of these names lacks a help file
that is because it is not yet complete.

What are all the skills for?

Alot of the skills are areas of knowledge for the scientist. While levels can
be gained by the use of STUDY, they can also use this to study an object,
ship, or even a book to find out more on the subject. If you want a guide to
what objects would teach you what… just use common sense to figure this out.

Alright, so there are SOME skills that are just knowledges, what else can we
      expect from this class?

Well, each knowledge is going to be used in a series of commands that allow
the scientist to affect almost EVERYTHING they can study. It will not be made
clear exactly WHAT will be possible, so that perhaps you will make and play
a scientist to find out. For example, one command will allow you to work
with some chemicals (a use of chemistry) to increase their power, or even
to use chemicals specially made to increase the power of a grenade.

Do not be alarmed. You can learn only the basics of each knowledge and
the ponder/study skills via research. The rest are learned through using the
      skills.
