First of all, I’m not looking to blame anyone for anything.
I’ve noticed shops being shut down and then soon after people claiming those shops were new, however there’s really no way to tell this unless you document literally every shop all across the Galaxy and then monitor it closely (this is pretty much impossible if you intend on actually -playing- the game).
Essentially what I’m asking for is a way to tell when the shop was founded/when the last item was sold in the shop. These are questions one could easily discern from the shopkeep. It would look something like this (if this is possible).
This humble looking shop vendor is the status quo of the basic human. His
features are so plain that you have already forgotten what he looks like.
He has a broad smile on his face.
The Vendor belongs to The Galactic Empire.
The Vendor was placed on 1/31/2014.
The Vendor last sold something 1 day ago.
The Vendor is in perfect health. The Vendor is wearing:
You are too far away to see what they’re carrying. This would only be viewable by someone with the diplomat empowerment, as they would have the authority to question the vendor about such things.

I suggest ordering shop owners to add a date tag every time they stock their shop and give them 1 week to make the change. Nameshop Paco’s Shop 2-4-14

Flek has a good idea, this would definitely stop the shutdowns without forcing any code changes.

I’ll agree that Flek’s idea is a good temporary solution, however it does leave a lot of room for abuse.

If you consider a shop owner logging in every few days and renaming their shop abuse… I really don’t the whole point of closing shops is for player abandonment. Besides its not much effort to add list to your check you were gonna look vendor anyway.

The Major thing I’d love to see is the ability to allow one additional player to operate your shop vendor the same as the owner for non-clan owned shops.
