Hello there, I"m an old mud player who is thinking about coming back and this place has caught my eye. Wondering how Jedi are balanced here, seems in starwars games and in the storylines one of two viewpoints prevails. In one case Jedi are very accomplished combatants, but a trained soldier (especially melee) actually has a chance against them…Mandelorian era storylines come to mind here. Then you have the "movie" version where any head on fight against a Jedi more or less equates to a loss for the one who isn’t force-sensitive.

Basically as one who favors combat professions, I’m wondering if you’re "out of luck" if you don’t end up rolling force sensitive and you come up against a jedi.

Essentially, run for your life. A few very skilled players have managed it, but in a one vs. one head-on fight, you’ll probably lose.

‘Course, there are other ways than just a head-on fight… >_>

Ever since Cortosis was taken out of the game it has been ‘teh forcerz whin!’ I truely hope that it’s reintroduced as a ‘very expensive’ commodoty, and sorry about all the spelling errors. I’m still half asleep.

It isn’t as fearsome as they are describing it. For starters, trained Jedi/Sith are a relatively rare occurrence when compared to the entire active playerbase.

Second, a large part of it depends on the character. Without a doubt, simply rolling force gives a huge PK advantage to someone, but if you have a Jedi who isn’t very PK savvy versus a combat main (or even better, a hunter) who is familiar with PK and knows the tricks of the trade, my money would not be on the jedi.

…you obviously never experimented with senses/foresight. Ironically, we had this discussion recently on OOC.
As a 95 forcer (neither maxed nor Master), senses/foresight let me womp on a BH main; he even had the old lunge (you know what I’m talking about). We used the exact same vibroblades. Force is just that overwhelming in a stand-up fight.
Now, if you’re talking about actual run-and-gun fight, it changes; still, don’t underestimate forcers.
