This was brought up on OOC so I thought I’d post it here:
The idea is to add another component “slot” to makeflashlight. Have it require either duraplast or durasteel (one or the other). Duraplast would be a cheaper and less durable option, while durasteel would be a more expensive and more durable option. The quality of the duraplast/durasteel would play a factor in the durability as well.

Probably because the (lack of) durability on the flashlights is pissing people off, Kresk.

It’s an idea that was brought up over OOC. Flashlights suck, and during the times you actually need them I would say 70% of the time there is a high chance they’ll get busted to pieces. It’s kind of pointless to make flashlights with a high charge because they’re liable to get blown to bits before they even run out. It makes sense that skilled engineers would be able to make more durable lights for combat and price them higher than their publicly sold, inferior counterparts.

I would be all for the durability of flashlights being increased.

Gotta call BS on that. Heck, I think 3 flashlights of mine broke while I was trying to log in.

All a flashlight requires is a circuit, a lens, and a battery, no casing? I think it should be added not for durability but just for the mere fact the entire time we have been using flashlights, out hands are on the circuit and battery

It would be cool if we could attach flashlights to repeaters, pistols and bowcasters.

I wouldn’t mind being able to recharge flashlights. I mean, I don’t go out and buy another MAGLITE when my batteries die…
