Alright, Here’s my revised subclass system for LEADERSHIP mains. gimme your jazz on what you think. I think it’d be really essential to get a subclass system in like the force subclasses, just for leadership mains. Give them a bit of diversity. Don’t make them so narrow and well, Pretty useless. I think it’d be nice to set up a mentor apprentice system kind of like the Force users, whenever your master uses an espionage skill and he is an espionage leader, you’d gain espionage exp for their use of the skill, for learning from watching.

i’m not thinking entirely clearly here, but something about all this just doesn’t sit right with me. leadership needs more skills added first so that more people start playing leadership characters (except for call). then when you have a fair number of high leadership characters, maybe you can introduce subclassing. but just looking it over, those bonuses seem ridiculous.

I agree with Adwei, currently this is a terrible idea. But I dont think there is ANY point to doing a Leadership main anyway and the option for MAIN in that category should be removed.

I’d pick leadership over diplomacy for a character with high racial diplomacy levels.

I think this idea isn’t too bad, just that I have problems with the level bonuses.

      1) Leaders should be already good at their specialties already. For example, a platoon leader should already be as proficient if not better than their subordinates. Thus, there is no need to give them a combat level bonus.

      2) People could pick leadership mains just to get these other bonuses that have been offered.

      3) It may not make sense that they may have lower levels compared to their subordinates in that particular field. So a leadership main might end up with 120 combat levels while their subordinates who are combat mains get 149-150 combat levels. This means that their subordinates are more proficient than they are, at the cost of leadership levels.

Perhaps leadership should cease being an option for main and become available for all characters who have at least 100 levels in their main? Or you can have leadership skills at the same levels as they are currently juxtaposed with the main levels gained. We can maintain current leadership skills and add more general leadership skills in the future. As for the subclasses, feats will be what distinguishes them from each other. For example, an infantry officer could have feats such as rally, valor, fortify, and morale.

To be fair, how many people here actually KNOW the class bonuses that leadership gives you to other classes? Probably not many. I don’t either, and I’ve had leadership main characters before… This idea has a lot of merit, but we’d need to flesh out precisely what limitations they would have… Maybe make leadership mains cost points or something, but there needs to be SOMETHING to make people not want to be leadership main chars. If they can get those kinds of bonuses, why would anyone make a typical soldier in one of those fields, afterall… Perhaps I’m being cynical, but the vast majority of players out there are level-greedy, so having cool bonuses as well as being able to be a ‘leader’ (OMFG DOOD I GET POWER! I IS LEETEST LEEDUR EVR) would be hard for a lot of folks to see past.

To be blunt, I like it, but it needs tweaking and some kind of cost or other deterrent.

It’s just +40 to diplomacy and +85 to leadership.

A lot of those bonuses seem way too high.

They are up for adjustment, They were just like, raw blah to work with.

You… Think about LotJ in the field? Man. That’s kinda sad <!– s:P –><!– s:P –> I seem to remember you, and some other guy, one of you was Int the other was Infantry… You the Infanteer? Cause that would be really sad… ‘I’m sitting here with a SAW, but I’d much rather dream up how I can e-kill e-people in the e-world.’ <!– s:wink: –><!– s:wink: –>

Lol. But, yeah, I like the idea, and I think there could be a lot of good to come of it… Considering everyone’s only real issue is the numbers you decided on, I’d say you should be pretty happy with the result. Props on the leet leedurship dood.
