History Discussion

I was talking with everyone on OOC and we were debating the aspects of history. I was curious what everyone thinks a history file should look like, and what it should contain. (How often it should be updated, etc. Perhaps what details should be only in think logs. Things of that nature.)

If you want to get technical and IC specific, yes, a history file will only tell whatever a government knows. Personally, I think character history files are an excellent way to flesh out a character’s roleplay and to otherwise give definition to your character. I definitely go out of my way to update my history file on a regular basis or at least make it accurate. I can dig up an example and share it to show how my mindset on it all works if anyone is interested.
