I read about the new formclan command at the [b:385c2wk8]wiki[/b:385c2wk8][/url:385c2wk8], and I had a few questions.
Will this be implemented at the start of era 2?
If a clan falls below the minimum requirements, will it be dissolved automatically by the code?
Will clans be allowed to change categories and/or span more than one area (a private taxi company that begins building shuttles, an engineering firm driven into secrecy for trading with the Rebels, etc.)?
How will clans be handled if they don’t fit into any of the given categories (Imperial Medical Association, Alderaanian Civil Liberties Union, PETA, etc.)?

Will this use the buggy members count as seen in showclan, or will it be based on the actual roster? The whole "look, Czerka’s only got 5 members" thing was bad enough when it didn’t cause clans to be deleted.
How will the credit values of clan ships be calculated? The "official" values have always been far from the ships’ actual worth, as we saw with Bzok’s autolaunch/sellship scheme and the 800k Couriers occasionally for sale on landing pads.

ship "values" have always been calculated as the sum of the component cost of a ship. x number of hull, y number of shields, z number of fuel, and so on

I made good money doing that….I don’t remember who convinced me to do it though. and blame the Hoar Chall for ordering 400 ships in the first place

I’m 76% certain it is based on active members as seen on the roster.

Now that, I have no idea.

Formclan sounds like an awesome idea. As long as the requirements are high enough to stop every player making a clan, but low enough for groups of RPers to get one together.

Yeah well we had like 15 active members when only 5 members showed up on showclan czerka. There goes the 76% <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt="" title="Razz" /><!– s:P –>

Whats stopping a player from creating a clan (IE: Getting all the credits and original members) and then filling the ranks with their own characters as insurance that the clan won’t ever be dissolved?

I would think the imms would be ckecking it, and if the clan’s full of chars from the same account they would dissolve it, atleast I would think they’d do that.

If everyone in the clan is gone except for the leader and his alts, then it’s just an instrument for multi-playing. If they aren’t cheating, keeping a dead clan or two around won’t hurt anything.
I’m more concerned about clans being accidentally deleted because someone is moving credits around, or the member count dropping due to illegal perms or a bug.

Wow, formclan kinda takes a lot away from anyone who got a clan app passed, unless Iam missing something. Seeing as its now "Anyone can have any clan"

Apped clans won’t have to worry about being automatically deleted, and they’re more likely to start out with a clan base and blueprints.

Its based on the roster activity check. It wont count inactive members. And the funds include the clan credits and the value of ships seen in the info command. For now, all of the clans able to be made are minor. And also, sure, everyone can make a clan if they have the money. But I seriously doubt most of them will stay active enough and with enough funds to exist. Imm-made clans generally don’t get dissolved. But if we see a clan being too inactive, we may remove that restriction and force them to get off their butts and get active <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
