I was watching star wars earlier. And it gave me the idea that forcers in the mud should automatically have a high piloting max level Because the force gives them quick reflexes. Even when the person isn’t trained, Anakin and Luke were both highly talented pilots before they were Jedi, and so was Obiwan even though he hated flying, and if I remember right, Corran Horn was an ace pilot before training to be a jedi also. (You can read about him on Wookieepedia).
It would also hint to the player that their character is force sensitive, allowing him/her to RP it like it really is. Feeling tingles of the force like a real force sensitive would feel. It could be used like this. A little text pops onto the hud saying. "You feel a mysterious unsettling tingle in your gut" if you are near a aggressive mob that automatically attacks. In the mud force sensitives don’t have a clue that they are, so they have to be all surprised if its revealed to them in RP. A real force sensitive would not be surprised when told he/she has a sensitivity to the force.
The idea doesn’t have to end there. All force sensitives have some kind of an advantage over normal beings. Darth Bane used his advantage to cheat at a game and win a lot of money before joining the sith. He also knew he was different before hand. I don’t know what those advantages could be when brought down to a mud setting. But it would allow for interesting RP possibilities for the player.
What about the ability to know before hand that another character is about to ‘consider’ the force sensitive. There could be a little delay between typing the consider command and the results coming up. And in that delay the force sensitive/trained forcer would get an alert of some kind. A force intuition that can be used in different ways. It can also be used if someone is aiming at the character in another room. In time to activate a lightsaber and deflect it back like how it would really happen. There should be more to the force popping up in the mud for a forcer than "You sense a disturbance in the force". The force flows through a jedi. I think a lot of cool things could be added here.
Brain storm it here if you feel like the idea could go somewhere. I think its authentic to the star wars universe so I figured I’d throw it out there.

Personally, I don’t like the idea of letting people know that their characters either have force or don’t. This will only encourage them to mass roll alts until one gets a high piloting or something.
Secondly, once you are awakened, you get the chance to pick a subclass which ultimately boosts your character level-wise. And yes, your reflexes do improve as you level force.
Thirdly, you already get a message if you are considered by another player.
Fourthly, I really agree on sensitives being in need of more messages than the disturbance. I would like to see the forcer being able to sense another forcer die in the system, and once level 110, a forcer of the same alignment in the game.

The extra inklings that you might be different could be interesting and useful, but they would have to be restricted, like only once you avatar and then be a random proc. As it is, you can’t be sensed until you hit 100, right? Keep that. Will defeat the mass-alt-rolling.
Rest of it I’m with Troll.

As much as I agree that the current Force system needs work (really? do I need to honestly get spammed by disturbances?) I disagree that unawakened sensitives should get any hint that they’re sensitive. There are people who make it their entire character’s life without knowing they were sensitive…the reason? Nobody saw whatever it is they were looking for in those characters, to train them. If you tell everyone that has Force, that they have it, it’ll turn into the begging game. We finally seem to have broken the mud of people just outright asking for a Jedi/Sith on comms to come sense them, even though there are a few stragglers here and there that disguise it in a "Oh I desperately need to talk to you, but not on comms" and then that turns into a face-to-face hangout session with that person bumbling through that they’re offering a special deal on repeaters or something that the forcer didn’t need in the first place.

I think Forcers may already get an edge in piloting. It might come out of Senses/Foresight.

Forcers need more RP than they do more skills to make them go "OMG I’m a badass motherfucker" more than they already do, but that’s just my opinion.

I agree with the general theme of this thread, rather than the original post — more messages/random benefits for forcers good, "inklings" bad. I do really like the term inkling, but that’s neither here nor there…
Anyway. Letting people know they’re sensitive without needing to be sensed would encourage rolling for force, like people keep saying. But I -do- think that the other ideas sound great. Forcers should be aware when they’re "in danger", as best the code can imitate that. Aimed at from another room is a perfect example, an alert when being sensed could help alert incognito forcers that they’re in trouble, etc.. However, there’s a point that hasn’t been said that I think needs to be made… there’s a very careful balance in this game right now. In a fair fight between two players who know little about the LotJ combat system, the one that’s Force sensitive will win every time. Most standard methods of attacking players (like… using a weapon) are either less effective or completely ineffective against forcers. BUT, Forcers [i:1iqptw1d]can[/i:1iqptw1d] be killed by non-sensitives. Without cheating. Everyone likes the idea of running around with a twinky forcer hearing all these helpful echoes wherever you go… but it can’t be overdone. Or the world will explode and stuff.

^This. Though the lack of RP may be related to the giant target painted on your back if you roll Force.
