Please, don’t let the title of the post throw off your judgment. This is a serious idea. REALLY.

Though developments are not being accepted, I was thinking about developing a new type of weapon anyway, and decided to post it here for some thoughts.

Thinking about a Chemical Thrower. Could be a flame thrower, napalm thrower, acid, cryothrower (dealing cold damage). This kind of weapon idea isn’t for direct, instant damage like most blasters and blades, but an attack that does damage over time. Obviously MOST people don’t die as soon as they come in contact with flames or ice.

Construction wise, I was thinking this would require probably a duraplast or durasteel, circuit, chemicals, and a battery. I’m not sure how to "reload" the chemical thrower unless we can use Chemicals as ammunition. The makebatch idea brought up earlier may go very well with this kind of weapon.

I’ve done my mourning before I posted this idea, so I’m ready for the haterade.

I dunno. I’m not really about giving Combatants/BHers another tool to use to rape someone.

I think someone else should give a more informed opinion about this. I’d much rather see more Slicer/Espi/Science improvements/updates/feats before anymore Combat stuff gets made.

Flamethrowers and napalm are/were already ingame and they’re an abomination. Trust me, you do not want them in a player’s hands.

+1 – I just don’t see a point at the moment to continue adding on to combatants at the moment when leadership only has like 4 skills…and there are still no espionage feats and only 1 slicer and medical feat

There is a flamethrower. The imms use it as a funny way to slay people. You do not want it in game.

I know. I saw Gathorn with it. It gave me the idea sense he said I couldn’t have his.

Flamethrowers are in game, there is a item type called device. Imms can make it and put a spell on it. There is a coded spell to use a flame based attack. Imms set this to the device you wear it and use it then person is hit. Want a flamethrower get a builder to make one <!– s;) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!– s;) –>

If you nerf it and balance it very well, it could work. I like the idea, but I dislike the fact that it would be abused like a mofo.

The coded spell things are fiddly, too: Anybody remember when there was the bug where poison pills did death field instead of cure poison?

Wasn’t there also a time, where everyone who logged on was poisoned randomly? And everyone was flocking into the newbie academy bacta tank? XD Good times.

Yeah, that was before the death field thing, when Orion put in the spice addiction stuff. I was attempting to escape Korriban at the time.
