With all these new opportunities for space combat popping up in game, I got to thinking about how we could get more people involved with capital ship battles and such. Sometimes engineers will repair lasers and ions on a cappy to “refresh” the system so it can fire more frequently, with the “chief_engineer” feat your engy will be like that cheeky bastard from Star Trek who can work miracles in the ships engine parts. I was thinking a percentage scale, maybe make it like slicer and secure, ranging from 0% additional weapons effectiveness up to maybe 15 to 25 percent, affected by science (spacecraft, destruction, possibly another). This would probably be a higher level skill, 110, 120 or so. I feel like it would widen the fun-range of engineers while also increasing ship RP. You would hone the skill as you do slice and secure, doing it over and over again.
P.S., this would obviously not be stackable. It would just run on a timer.

This is a dumb suggestion. For various reasons, and would do nothing to increase ship RP.
