These two would be commands, not skills, and probably accessible on all non-basic datapads.

      Command: lockdatapad <datapad> <5 digit number>
This encrypts your datapad. It then cannot be viewed/modified without unlocking it.

      Command: unlockdatapad <datapad> <5 digit number>
      See above.

Level ??? Slicer Skill: hackdatapad <datapad>
You’d use this on a locked datapad to try and break the code. I don’t know if this will tell you the code, or just remove it.

Lock/unlockdatapad are working on my coding port. Pretty simple to work it. Just hold a datapad, and type ‘lock 12345’. This will prevent any datamem commands from functioning (datamem -> This datapad is locked). Use unlockdatapad to unlock it.

It won’t let me vote for some reason…but, I like the idea..The only reason I can see giving the hacking slicer the actual code is in case that person uses the code over and over again in their ship and so on…*shrugs* I’d say just make it unlock and skip the step of them then having to put the code in

Wouldnt let me vote. Great idea, I agree on the it should just bypass the lock, when you pick a ship lock does it give you the code?

Well good news folks all 3 are stable and working on my port. Tomorrow I’ll clean up the messages a bit and submit it to Rojan for addition to the main port.

Could there actually be feat that would show you the code itself (or there is a random chance you see it) ? Knowing the code could become useful.
