Since many of us do not update our history on a regular basis, how feasible would it be to make it up to date by moving employment history to the end and automatically updating the list of clans you have been in each time you join a new one? Make it something outside of the buffer? Perhaps only do so as long as the clan is public at the time you join it? I have noticed a lot of out of date histories lately, and I am guilty of it myself. This could help fill in at least some of the gaps and fill the role the history command is meant to.

Maybe if it was a part of lookup. At the start, you’d have to put in previous employment, too, though, as a part of character history.

This really isn’t something the imms should worry about to be honest. You don’t HAVE to use the template that is provided for you.. you are able to edit that blank template or you can just create your own.

On the flipsies, I kind of find it irritating when it reads “Clanned Asshole” at the top of his lookup, and that from IC context, I discover he’s a high ranking member of said clan, and in his history he has written, it’s like, “I HAVE NEVER BEEN EMPLOYED BUT I AM SUPER AWESOME AFTER HAVING JUST GRADUATED THE ACADEMY.”

I’ve occasionally thought that some coded additions to lookup at the end of the buffer might be nice, and employment history was always top of that list. When Miros gets back off of his well earned break i’ll have a chat with him and the rest of the staff to grab thoughts.

I feel like this should be less of a code enforcement thing and more of a PR enforcement thing, but you know how that stuff goes on LOTJ.
I think every 2 months you should be eligible for a 50-100 point bonus if you update your history. You email PR with your old history, your updated one, bam points bonus. At some point we need to decide what should be coded and what should be a habit created via positive reinforcement.
