Seems to me that the way the Noghri are set up at the moment is odd… The Noghri assassins were like primitive hunters who were brainwashed basically and employed their natural skills to become effective assassins.

They weren’t crazyass blaster-using thugs with the ability to track being their pinnacle of ‘hunting’, and doorcutting and blackjack as their primary stealth abilities.

The skill bonuses for them are out-of-whack with what their role was in canon SW. And they can’t pick Bounty Hunting as their class, to represent their dagger/blade using and hunting prowess (not just clan restriction stuff, you physically cannot choose it from char creation). It’s my opinion that if they’re going to be forced to be combatants or some other main aside from BH, that they should have less of a boost to combat and a higher boost to bounty hunting. As well as slightly lower espionage and medical. I’m not sure about actual numbers, but as for the combat/BH bonuses… Lets see, a Zabrak with +35 BH can track, just barely… So +50 would mean 70 or so, maybe a bit higher after attribute bonuses, perhaps reaching 80 for limber, sprint, and true_examine. Seeing as they were highly skilled with daggers and other bladed weapons, this seems odd. Seems like they should be able to get vibro mastery, backstab, circle, ambush… Lunge would be likely something they could do as well, but it’s far too high of a level. It may seem crazy, but if they’re being forced to not be BH-main characters, and forced into a clan, and forced into a role that seems like it should utilize BHing skills, they should have a bonus somewhere in the area of +75 to +80 or so. And less emphasis on blasters and that kind of crap, maybe a combat bonus of around 0 or even -5 or -10. They’d still be downright fierce, still be combat mains technically, and be a lot closer to being primitive hunters turned assassin than they currently are.

I know a lot of you will disagree. However, they are a very expensive race, with high restrictions on them (I doubt any of them will actually end up perming anyone), and their use by the leaders of the Empire would have to be justified to the RPC and Imms quite clearly, most likely. They won’t be running around pwning random people on the street, or even soldiers of an enemy faction. I highly doubt anything they do that’s not justified very thoroughly by the appropriate people will result in swift ass-kicking. Keep that in mind before yelling about them being twinked out.

The biggest problem with this game is there are TOO many restrictions. Yes people dont want to lose characters they worked for days/weeks on but death is a BIG part of the Star Wars galaxy, thus is why CLONING is in the game. Though if cloning was a bit cheaper it wouldn’t be so much hassle.

I disagree and disagree again. Why? Because we don’t want a damn army of 150 BHers

And that’s exactly the kind of near-sighted ‘reasons’ I expected.

They’re obviously not part of the army, I said quite clearly that they wouldn’t be ‘150’ (though I bet you exaggerated for some kind of effect), and apparently you think BHers are gods for some reason. <!– s:? –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!– s:? –> I’ve never really understood that – a lot of them talk tough but in reality can be beaten down by a smart combatant. They are, however, quick and efficient killers, which is what the Noghri were supposed to be. Classes and skills just make you modify your tactics, and 150 combats can be quite lethal in their own right… Someone having bounty hunting skills to better suit their role of a fairly primitive being turned assassin isn’t going to throw the PvP world into chaos. It’s just going to make the Empire more powerful and feared… Would you openly stand up and rebel if you knew the Emperor had a death squad at his disposal? Instead of ‘assassins’ that any one of your combat friends can likely go toe-to-toe with? And the alternate (like in every Empire) is getting your ass owned by a dark Jedi with a far lesser chance of escaping than you do a Noghri.

I figured since this time they decided to incorporate the Noghri into the Empire, they’d help put an end to the forcers doing all of the real work. But to do that, they’d need to be able to actually carry out their orders, and not be a mere match for every little guy out there who calls himself a merc. I would like to consider them more ‘plot devices’, since as I said, I also suggest their actions be closely scrutinized by the proper authorities. Kind of like the Taung.

EDIT: Oh, I meant to ask if you had any sort of other reason. You know, maybe something constructive to critique instead of saying it’s a stupid idea &quot;cause I don’t like it!&quot;.

Precisely why the bounty hunting class is more suited to primitive-styled ‘hunters’ and other groups like that. I don’t know why Wookiees have a – to BH either, it only makes sense that they would be good at hunting and with their blades… But that’s another issue entirely… Our ‘Bounty Hunting’ class is basically a combination of the old Rogue-style offensive skills and the Scout or Ranger or whatever hunting skills from SMAUG. Of course, we do have a fair amount of wickedly awesome added skills, but it’s basis was sneaky assassin-type people, not Boba Fetts.

Which further supports that the Noghri should be set up to be using our ‘Bounty Hunting’ skills instead of mostly our ‘Combat’ skills… Since our version of the ‘Combat’ class seems to be aimed almost entirely at blasters and other advanced weaponry systems.
