      You know. Those little things that must be buried under our skin, because even if you can hear a pin drop, you still can’t hear another person’s comlink go off.

      To me, comlinks seem as though they should go off kind of like a personal radio, in the fact that other people can hear them, on occasion. Like, sometimes you could hear either bits and pieces, or the whole message that is said if the ambience is quiet. Only bits and pieces, or just like, ‘a comlink on $n buzzes.’ if the ambience is normal. Nothing, or that buzzy thing if it’s loud.

      I think it would improve the realism of the game, and strengthen RP. Especially like if you’re a spy, and your comlink goes off with some incriminating evidence. Or if someone’s standing in your group, supposedly less than a foot from you, and starts going off on their comlink talking smack from you, or planning to backstab you, magically you won’t hear what goes into their comlink, or what’s said back in return. =/ Or if you’re planning a surprise birthday party, or just.. I don’t know, it goes on.

      It makes sense that you should be able to hear what goes into people’s comlinks just other than when you’re on ships, and hear what comes out of it likewise.

      Thoughts? Suggestions? Death threats? >_>

      Yes and no. I’d like to see most standard comlinks give that /beep/ or whatever… but there should be a slicer/espi skill to set a comlink to silent mode or something. And there should be a way to bug comlinks… and a way to unbug them.

      On second thought; channel zero and clan channels ought to be exempt from that sort of thing: they go off loads too much. o.o;
