Ok, a very good IC friend died of an illness today, a good bit of roleplay was done, and his last words were prolific to say the least, as a mark of respect, I planned to put his body inside a cloakshape with his last words on a datadisk and autolaunch it as a sort of burial ritual.

      Apart from the fact that I can’t pick his body up, which sort of cramped the whole experience <!– s:( –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!– s:( –>

Can we have the ability to pick up corpses? I suppose they dissapear after time but there should still be enough time for a good send off, perhaps you guys could add capsules that we can place bodies into, and when autolaunched they head straight for the nearest sun with the body and anything else you place inside it.

Would add some brilliant roleplay and allow us to roleplay funerals and such.

      Any thoughts?

EDIT: Stasis booths could be added to place corpses into, which would sustain corpses for several OOC days before finally dissappearing, this can allow for time to arrange the funeral and gather people interested in attending.

I like this idea. I would be more inclined to role play the death of an elderly individual from old age or a disease or what have you. Very nice. Well done.

I’d like to agree, but it would lead to lots of ninja asshattery.
If done, I’d say that mobs would have to be progged/coded to flip out when they see a corpse, and cops would cordon off the area/send the corpse to a &quot;morgue&quot; (another room in the planet jail, set much like the rooms for the jail command are) where other players could pick the corpse up, etc.
If you didn’t, then, sure, RPed funerals would have that added benefit, but somebody could just walk into the citadel, OFF SOMEBODY, and the only [currently-coded] record of it would be that corpse… which the assassin would abscond with, pronto.

There you go. Give Forensics something useful to do.

Pfft. I’ll make CSI: Coruscant. Much like Tatooine, only less sand.

I’d say that Bespin or Nar Shaddaa would make a better Las Vegas.
Coruscant works for New York, I guess.
      What about Miami? Corellia?

Corellia is more of a Midwest city, maybe Chicago or Minneapolis.

If any of the midwest cities, I’d say Detroit – high minority populations, economy based around industry, et al.
We still need a Miami, though! There’s no CSI: Detroit.

      CSI: Miami = CSI: Wroona

It could work. Close to the &quot;Core&quot; (the East Coast), prevalent beaches…

…but it doesn’t hair the air of gluttony that Miami’s stereotyped to have…
