Um, no. The Imperial Repeater Rifle is nowhere close to a minigun. The closest, handheld SW weapon you could get would be this:

No, it’s close to a minigun. Read the article on Repeating Blasters again. Near the bottom in the list of Personal Repeating Blasters, you see Imperial Repeater Rifle.

Early Clone Wars repeaters /did/ look like miniguns.
But then, early Lightsabers looked like this:

Anyone who’s played Battlefront 2 knows what the repeaters looked like back then. Honestly, I just want more balance between the blasters, I hate seeing EVERYONE using a repeater. The point of classes was to adjust that, so that everyone wasn’t using a double "blaster rifle" pistols. We fixed one problem, now we’re sucked into another one. Where EVERYONE is using a repeater. I avoid it at all costs. Pistols and Rifles should be more use then for just sniping.
But the twinks, and PVPers would rather numbers over realism. So, the odds are we probably won’t get them balanced to the point of where everythings useful in their own way. Repeaters should be fast, strong, but inaccurate. Rifles should be slow, powerful, accurate, but two-handed. Pistols would be fast, dual-wieldable, but weak in comparrison. Rifles would be used by most mercs, and hunters, and low-class infantry. Repeaters would be for military-use only, but the occasional BHer or merc would get ahold of them via blackmarket or sinking ALOT and I mean -alot- of credits into it.
That’s how I’d see it, but each person has their opinion, each person has their RP. And the repeaters would get out to the public anyway.
