The Rebels and Imperials come to terms for peace
On a nearby screen the Imperial Cog appears with the [Imperial News Network] logo displayed underneath. It fades out to a female human news anchor seated behind a desk. She looks ahead at the camera and begins her address, a note of trepidation in her voice as she begins, "Hello. Gemma Teel for Imperial News Network. We're bringing you a breaking news announcement directly from Imperial Warlord and Grand Admiral Tharon Vale." The image cuts away to show a dark figure wearing a golden skull mask standing behind a podium in the Imperial Palace, flanked on both sides by Imperial Royal Guards and several high-ranking Imperial Officials. The assembled crowd sits in waiting, surrounded by Imperial Stormtroopers standing at parade rest. He stoically addresses the assembled crowd...
"Citizens of the Galaxy and loyal members of our dominion. I am Imperial Warlord Tharon Vale, Grand Admiral of the Lord Emperor's naval forces and protector of His Majesty's Dominion. We have fought long and valiantly, spilling much Imperial blood in defense of this dominion from those who would see the Galaxy's peace and stability upended. This war has ravaged the Galaxy for too long, and now is the time for peace. I have spoken with Supreme Commander Cygnus Vho of the Rebel Alliance. I presented eminently reasonable terms that would allow Vho to salvage what little remains of his Rebellion, contained within its borders. After a spell, and with some negotiation, a peace treaty has been agreed. From this moment on, the Galactic Empire's borders shall no longer be threatened. The Rebel Alliance, such as it is, will be free to form whatever government it deems worthwhile. I am confident that, in time, the planets under its rule will see fit to return to the welcoming embrace of Imperial loyalty and security. Time will prove me right. I want to pay my deepest respects to those loyal Imperial soldiers and citizens who suffered greatly throughout this war. Their sacrifice will be marked by history and by the Empire's continued, unending success. Long live the Empire."

The image reverts back to the female news broadcast, who looks taken aback as she announces, "That's all we have for now, folks. We'll continue to bring you the latest coverage on what this peace treaty means for you -- and for us all. This has been an Imperial News Network special broadcast" The Imperial Cog appears with the [Imperial News Network] logo displayed underneath before the screen blinks out.
A circular insignia with the words "The Rebel Alliance" appears on the screen, spiraling for a moment before the broadcast cuts to a mid-sized human male, looking somewhat older and more fatigued than in previous broadcasts. He is standing in front of a podium, the snowy tundra of Arkania and the Luka Sene Academy behind him, and begins:
"People of the Galaxy. I am Cygnus Vho, leader of the Rebel Alliance. I come before you today to announce, at long last, the return of peace. When I began Phoenix Cell so very long ago, it was with a singular purpose: to overthrow The Galactic Empire and to give each planet within our protectorate a choice of how they wish to be governed. Since then, countless people took up arms in support of this vision of freedom -- freedom from oppression, and freedom to shape their own destiny. Though we haven't achieved a total victory, we have achieved what, just a few short months ago, seemed impossible: we liberated roughly half the galaxy from the Empire's grasp, giving these worlds the opportunity to chart their own course. In the coming months, we intend to form a New Republic, free from the corruption and incompetence that plagued the last one, yet true to its core ideals of equality and democratic representation for all worlds. The New Republic will exist peaceably, side-by-side with what remains of the Galactic Empire. Two sovereigns sharing a common border, showing the Galaxy what each form of government can do for its people. We will let our ideals compete for us in the hope that they yet prevail. The arc of history is exceedingly long. Let us all enter this new era with hope for the future and a common resolve to water the tree of liberty for so long as we draw breath."
