OSAY Reminders
A reminder about not using OSAY for IC discussions
Lately, the staff has noticed an increase in the use of the OSAY channel to directly/indirectly influence ongoing IC actions in one's own favor or to express dissatisfaction, especially in moments of high stakes. Some unacceptable uses of OSAY include but are not limited to:
"Get it over with already. Just perm me."
"I'm so over all of this. I'm just done."
"I'm going to [specific IC action/shelve/delete] this character."
Please refrain from using this channel to denounce things that are happening ICly, arrange IC actions, or to otherwise make emotional pleas to others about in-game situations. We know that these moments can be emotionally charged, but the IC-OOC rules still apply.
One exception to this would be defining personal boundaries--think telling someone you are uncomfortable or asking someone if they are uncomfortable. If you feel a rule is being broken, contact us. Remember: Anything a player can do to you, we can undo. And we will, if the situation warrants it.
Your best bet, if you are very upset, is to not use OSAY at all.
We will be taking a closer look at this going foward and will act if we see violations or that you are letting your emotions get away from you on this or any other channel.
