Hey, someone told me about this game and it looks sweet but I can’t play <!– s:( –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt="" title="Sad" /><!– s:( –> at first I thought it was a firewall or a computer setting or router or ISP issue. Did a bunch of checking to figure it out because oddly enough I could connect to lotj.wolfpaw.net:5010 (the builder port) Or I could use mudconnector Java client (but it was too tiny to see well enough to play)
Ended up asking a computer expert friend of mine from israel and he had the same problem wanted to know if anyone would know of a solution or if there is an alternative port for access?

Port 5000 is our main port. Port 5010 is our building port. 5050 is coding, but its wizlocked and usually not up.

Sounds like your problem is with port 5000 itself. That’s a pretty common issue. A lot of servers block port 5000 because it’s associated with trojans. You can confirm by going on the Mud Connector and looking for some other MUD that happens to be on port 5000. If that one won’t work either, then that’s the issue.
Your best bet is to try to connect through a proxy.

… I didn’t know that port 5000 is often blocked.
LotJ used to be on port 5555 on the old archsync server, and we couldn’t do it on this one, so we took 5000 as our alternate.
I’m really sorry for those of you who have had connection problems.

Its alright I learned to proxy! Just for lotj! I take a big hit in my reaction speed sometimes, but overall its pretty well stable. Thanks for all the help!

I get hit with reaction speed difficulties quite a bit too. Chalked it up to my connection.

Ok so I am using old Telnet. Which means I have to press the Windows Button and then the R button. What do I type in there? Same thing except with a 5656 at the end? Or a brand NEW thing. Because, well Legendsofthejedi.com: 5656 isn’t working for my Telnet Connection.

Start
Run
type in ‘telnet’
o legendsofthejedi.com 5656
And you’re there.Or get Mushclient, it’s free and great and you can play multiple MUDs at once.

NOTE: Mush is only free if you wish to sit through half a minute of number randomization, and then pick the number you’re directed to. On top of it, it can be somewhat system-intensive for a MUD client–not as much as zMud, but more so than GMUD, probably the most newbie- and system-friendly client.

I thought MUSHCLIENT was made totally free, no more registration or wait times?
